Fight of the year 2022

Post by DrDuke »

I pick Jermell Charlo vs Brian Castano II, cause it was virtually about everything: clash of styles, high competition, high level skills, big shots and a brutal KO.

The 2nd gotta be Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov vs Zelfa Barrett, it was about the same.

The 3rd for me is Juan Francisco Estrada vs Roman Gonzalez III, since it was an action-packed high level affair, just like all their previous bouts.

Then I'd name Viktor Vykhryst vs Iago Kiladze, cause it was an insane brawl with a number of KDs.

Dereck Chisora vs Kubrat Pulev was also fun, but it was too primitive.

And what are your picks, fellas?

I'd say all this applies to Wood-Conlan (Leigh, not Lee). I'd have that first as FOTY.

Charlo-Castano II is an excellent shout though. Then Fundora-Lubin.

Still Charlo and Castano showed more skill than Wood and Conlan.

Wood-Conlan was far more dramatic. I’m biased, but IMO the atmosphere that night was something else. You just don’t get that with US shows unless it’s a real top fight.

Ortiz vs Martin aka:
Father Time vs Walk this Earth Like a God

It's obviously Woodie putting Conlan through the ropes in an epic battle :bag:
