Fights where a fighter lost by stoppage when they were either favourite to win or ordinarily durable. Not the obvious picks like Curry or Tyson but the more rare one off losses.

Ones that spring to mind are the normally durable Kalambay being sparked in one round by Nunn (the only time he was stopped)

The then undefeated Badou Jack being stopped in one round by the unknown Derek Edwards, still the only time he was stopped.

One of the most bizarre finishes that I can think of was the human anvil Tex Cobb getting dropped like four times in a single round by Dee Collier. Never seen film of the fight or anything but it always made me wonder if Cobb didn't take a dive.

Good shout. I used to wonder if he threw it too but the fight report suggests it was a legit stoppage, just caught early and never recovered.

Maybe not so strange with hindsight but David Haye being stopped in his first ever loss by the hard hitting Carl Thompson was unexpected.

By dive he may have meant making no real effort to avoid the punches rather than the punches having no effect.

Tommy Morrison against Michael Bent comes to mind...

Kassim Ouma who was always very tough in his heyday losing via 1st round KO to Agustin Silva is unusual.

Oliver McCall's loss to Lennox Lewis surely counts as Bizarre, possibly the MOST bizarre

Marco Antonio Barrera's cornermen coming in throwing water at Junior Jones as if he was committing some kinda crime in their 1st fight was really unusual. It's technically a DQ win for Junior Jones because the cornermen made it a DQ by entering the ring, but when you see that it's pretty much a TKO.

Ryan Burnett back injury against Nonito Donaire. Did something like that happened in another high profile fight ?

Mark Young took a dive against Mike Tyson in their 1985 bout.

No he wasn't. Watch again. Starling dropped his hands because the bell rang. Molinares had a clean shot after the bell.
