Carlos Monzon vs. Vito Antuofermo

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Middleweight Bout

Monzon would punish Antuofermo behind his sharp left jabs, right hands and combinations to stop him on the eye cut in the late rounds. What do you guys think and who do you got?

Come on will ya

Monzon wins this running away. Antuofermo would do well to take 4 or 5 rounds in a 15 rounder, but Monzon would win handily without question.

A stoppage is certainly possible.

Monzon would absolutely punish Vito for as long as he could hold up.

I was a big fan of Vito because he was such an overachiever and from Bari. But Monzon would have smacked him around and stopped him on cuts, round 10-12

King Carlos by technical knockout. Vito Antuofermo's corner stops the fight because their man was getting too much punishment. More punishment that they can bare.

Monzon by technical knockout in 11 one sided rounds.

I concur, but I thinking it would end in 13.

Just like in the two Marvelous' fights, Vito's face would look like if a truck ran through him. Worse than the movie "Carrie". Too much blood in his eyelids coming out.

Monzon would pummel Vito en route to a TKO stoppage anywhere from the tenth to 13th rounds. Mostly likely the bout ends because of Vito's facial injuries, such as cuts and swollen eyes.

Either the ringside doctor or Vito's cornermen would end it between rounds, I'm thinking. I don't think Monzon would hurt or floor Vito. I can't imagine Vito being dazed, staggered, or out on his feet at any point. To repeat myself: Vito loses because of severe facial damage.

King Carlos would have no problem winning the vast majority of the rounds as long as it lasts. The only rounds Vito wins are the ones where Monzon is taking a rest, to conserve energy.

Monzon would patiently spear Vito with his long, stiff, left-jab, thrown effortlessly. Increasingly, as the rounds passed, Monzon would open up with combinations, swatting Vito with both hands. From start to finish there'd be no doubt about Monzon's dominance.

Vito would be game throughout, but he'd have trouble landing head shots against Monzon. Carlos's masterful defense would enable him to block, slip, or duck most of Vito's punches.
