Usyk has a good jab.
Decent ring movement.
Fury will have a minimum of 60 pounds on him.

How many threads do we need on this? We've talked about it all we really need to. Now we just gotta see it. Usyk has the skills or he don't, but ain't nothing we SAY gonna make a damn bit of difference in the reality of it.
The fight will answer these questions.

Let me re-phrase the question: What superskills does Fury have to overcome Usyk? ![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
He's a great operator and his style will hurt Tyson.
Fury is always the most fluid man in the ring when he fights but this time he won't be. He will have to go looking for Usyk and that's not what he's used to.

Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
I think Tyson's size advantage, and knowing how to use it will be crucial
Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
He knows how to use his size advantage and is happy to lean on, hold, push his opponent down etc. all night - he doesn't care if its a shit fight as long as he wins.
A major factor is Usyk's mental strength, determination and fortitude.
Most opponents can't work Fury out and can't cope with his antics.
Usyk is one of the few people who Fury can't work out - if Fury dresses up as batman again and does a song and dance, then Usyk will dress up as spiderman and sing and dance along with him.

Isn't their a point when you are just too big? These examples will get shot down but hear me out as size absolutely helped: Brook/GGG - Khan/Canelo. The latter are better fighters for sure but if there was nothing in it, size would have prevailed alone.
Am sure there are far better examples than above, of fighters jumping 2 divisions and it going horribly wrong for them.
In terms of Fury/Usyk, there isn't much in it for me so size will be the factor.

Usyk's weirdness comes off much more natural than Fury's.bripez wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 19:41He knows how to use his size advantage and is happy to lean on, hold, push his opponent down etc. all night - he doesn't care if its a shit fight as long as he wins.

Usyk's mental strength is also evident when he doesn't fold when he's losing rounds. Usually when boxers are getting punched around and lose the first few rounds you see them start to look a bit lost but Usyk turns up the dials and starts moving his feet and increases his output.
Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
Fury’s too big, plus too long. Usyk will have his moments, but will wilt under the weight of fury up close. AJ would have stood a chance if he knew how to use his size like fury does.
Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
I think Whyte uses his size and strength better than AJ which would give him that bit of a chance against Usyk. He showed absolutely none of it against Fury though.

In theory, Fury will be too big, and that may well prove to be the case, but I would not be surprised if Uysk were to KO him. Smith vs Eubank Jr is a good reminder that anything can happen in a boxing ring.
Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
Not sure their 'superskills' but his movement and basic boxing skills will be enough to give Fury fits.
I feel just making Fury work harder than his usual plodding pace will reap benefits for Usyk.
What will be the deciding factor if Usyk can carry that to get the win will be decided by who the referee is and what he allows Fury to get away with.

That's what I mean - he isn't putting it on so Fury can't knock him off kilter before the fight.joshj909 wrote: ↑23 Jan 2023, 11:18Usyk's weirdness comes off much more natural than Fury's.bripez wrote: ↑19 Jan 2023, 19:41He knows how to use his size advantage and is happy to lean on, hold, push his opponent down etc. all night - he doesn't care if its a shit fight as long as he wins.

Re: What superskills does Usyk have to overcome Fury ?
True but he has generally been in with other low output heavy’s so never had to move through the gears really.
Not many heavyweights these days with high output / pressure. Can only really think of Joyce and Usyk who can put lots of shots together consistently.
I rewatched Tua / Ibeabuchi recently .. damn that was a crazy fight. Two big men throwing so many punches.
