Eddie Machen wasn't as elusive as Billy Conn. So I tend to think that Joe Louis would have eventually got to him and perhaps knocked him out. 11 rounds or so. You were either going to have to be extremely quick to get the better of Joe Louis or you were going to have to crowd him in order to take away all of his strengths.

Louis would win it comfortably and stop Machen at some point.

Machen had his moments in the early rounds by outboxing him behind his jabs and counters, but the Brown Bomber would figure out by landing heavy jabs, left hooks and right hands that would wear Machen down, then knocking Machen out in the late rounds.
