Question: How are the rankings affected following Joyce’s stoppage loss to Zhang?
New rankings after votes.
joshj909 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 07:59 Chat shit get Zhanged. 20/1 and £200 richer. Zhang to 4th, Joyce to 8th.
Reasoning is that Wilder has never beaten anyone as good as Joyce so Zhang goes up above him. Joyce has beaten Parker so is above him.
My personal rankings have changed quite a lot over the past few months but they look something like this:
1. Usyk
2. Fury
3. Joshua
4. Ruiz
5. Hrgovic
6. Zhang
7. Whyte
8. Joyce
9. Sanchez
10. Parker
11. Wilder
12. Ajagba
13. Makhmudov
14. Chisora
15. Bakole
*Demirezen would be in 15th, but he has announced an indefinite break, while Anderson is next up behind Bakole.
s a bit of
Edit: Can I change my vote? I selected 7th instead of 8th as I didn't take into account that Zhang coming in would push them all down one.
Okay let’s say it was a close fight..
Had Zhang beat Joyce 7 months ago and then Hrgovic edged a close but possibly controversial decision last night, would that be all that different? For me it shouldn't be. We have the benefit of hindsight so can re-assess after a number of fights within a reasonable timeframeRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 11:03Okay let’s say it was a close fight..
Since that fight Hrg hasn’t fought, whereas Zhang has beaten someone in the top5.
Hrg only got in after his controversial win over Zhang.
Hrgovic is still without an opponent, just like our entire Top 15. But you can’t say he isn’t trying to get a fight. He is the current IBF mandatory, but can’t get his title shot yet, because Usyk has to fight Dubios first. The Fury-Usyk negotiations delayed everything. So he won’t get his shot this year.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 11:03 Since that fight Hrg hasn’t fought, whereas Zhang has beaten someone in the top5.
Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 11:29 As it stand Zhang is #5 and Joyce is #7.
Ruiz staying put ar #6
Everyone else moves down and Jah out.
If I'm not mistaken you are putting parker ahead of JJ after getting ko'd by him.adislav123 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 12:46 to put zhang at 5 in front of whyte, parker & ruiz? can't be serious.

On paper, he got the win over the guy everyone is voting to number 5 just 7 months ago.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 14:05 If we just got fair scorecards.. we’d never be in these situations.
Even last nyt, we had a dodgy card.
How come some people have Hrgovic so high on their lists?
And at the time Zhang was not near our top 15 I don’t think.joshj909 wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 14:32On paper, he got the win over the guy everyone is voting to number 5 just 7 months ago.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑16 Apr 2023, 14:05 If we just got fair scorecards.. we’d never be in these situations.
