Question: How are the rankings affected following Joyce’s stoppage loss to Zhang?

New rankings after votes.

If you’re voting Joyce below 10 then you better have a reason imo.. but type ur vote down and I’ll include it.

I think Ruiz should go up to 5, Zhang in at 6, and everyone else down one (Joyce 7). I'd be surprised to see Joyce below either Whyte or Parker to be honest.

Chat shit get Zhanged. 20/1 and £200 richer. Zhang to 4th, Joyce to 8th.

Reasoning is that Wilder has never beaten anyone as good as Joyce so Zhang goes up above him. Joyce has beaten Parker so is above him.

My personal rankings have changed quite a lot over the past few months but they look something like this:

1. Usyk
2. Fury
3. Joshua
4. Ruiz
5. Hrgovic
6. Zhang
7. Whyte
8. Joyce
9. Sanchez
10. Parker
11. Wilder
12. Ajagba
13. Makhmudov
14. Chisora
15. Bakole

*Demirezen would be in 15th, but he has announced an indefinite break, while Anderson is next up behind Bakole.

Edit: Can I change my vote? I selected 7th instead of 8th as I didn't take into account that Zhang coming in would push them all down one.

Andy Ruiz should be ranked lower, he rarely fights and his past two wins are over old faded boxers.

Whyte should be below Zhang and Joyce, he's been stopped in two of his past 4 fights, and his last fight was a close one with a journeyman.

Zhang to 5, Joyce to 7

Now that is a good top 15. Joshua looked bad during his last fight. He is likely over rated. Fury at #2 is not a bad pick but I am about ready to drop him as he does not want to fight anyone young or ranked. Ruiz is acting like Fury, fighting the very old and washed up.

Let Usyk fight Hrgovic Or Zhang.

My vote:

1. Usky
2. Fury
3. Hrgovic
4. Zhang
5. Joshua
6. Ruiz
7. Sanchez
8. Joyce
9. Wilder
10 Dubios
11. Parker
12. Makmudov
13. Jalolov
14. Anderson
15. Gassiev

What a weak top 15. Hopefully the young guys can clean up this mess.

We will end up with Zhang on 5 and Hrgovic on 14.

They shouldn’t be so far apart, because they had a close fight last year that could have gone either way.

Okay let’s say it was a close fight..

Since that fight Hrg hasn’t fought, whereas Zhang has beaten someone in the top5.

Hrg only got in after his controversial win over Zhang.

Had Zhang beat Joyce 7 months ago and then Hrgovic edged a close but possibly controversial decision last night, would that be all that different? For me it shouldn't be. We have the benefit of hindsight so can re-assess after a number of fights within a reasonable timeframe

Zhang 5
Joyce 6
Everyone moves down.

Easiest solution and let the others get voted as they fight or are removed due to inactivity.

Hrgovic is still without an opponent, just like our entire Top 15. But you can’t say he isn’t trying to get a fight. He is the current IBF mandatory, but can’t get his title shot yet, because Usyk has to fight Dubios first. The Fury-Usyk negotiations delayed everything. So he won’t get his shot this year.
In the meantime the IBF ordered Hrgovic-Ruiz for the interim belt, but Ruiz pulled out before the purse bid started. Now he called out Zhang for a rematch. The high ranked fighters are avoiding him, because he isn’t a draw. So I can’t blame them. He has to wait till someone is willing to have a bad payday to challenge him for the mandatory position/interim belt.

If I'm not mistaken you are putting parker ahead of JJ after getting ko'd by him. :maybe:

If we just got fair scorecards.. we’d never be in these situations.

Even last nyt, we had a dodgy card.

How come some people have Hrgovic so high on their lists?

On paper, he got the win over the guy everyone is voting to number 5 just 7 months ago.

And at the time Zhang was not near our top 15 I don’t think.
