Conn would have moments by outboxing Norton in the early rounds, but in the later rounds, Norton would cut Conn off the ring and working on the body, then knocking him out with either his left hook or overhand right in 10 rounds should Conn try to exchange punches would be his mistake.

It would be very competitive during the early and possibly middle rounds. Conn would score, but Norton would back him up using superior strength, power, and aggression.

At some point Norton's physical advantages force Conn permanently into survival mode. After that it's a question of whether Conn succeeds in running, holding, and hiding to last the distance, or Norton wipes him out with a fight ending combo in the later rounds.

But definitely Norton big, on cards or by stoppage.

I suspect he would utilize the same strategy that he did against Muhammad Ali basically beating him to the punch with the jab. Ali arguably was a shade or two faster on his feet than Conn, so I figure Norton would basically spear Conn like a harpoon. Eventually he'd catch Conn with a combination and stop him, but I couldn't tell you when.

The great trainer Ray Arcel said that the great Billy Conn was weighing 168lbs against the great Joe Louis by the middle rounds. Wow!

Against Ken Norton, Conn would need more weight and muscle to beat someone like Norton who weigh in about 210 or 215lbs in his prime. But it was pure muscle. No fat.

I pretty much agree with this take on the fight. Conn would give it all he had, there's no questioning his courage, but I can't see him making it past the 10th or 11th with the pummeling he'd be taking from a far bigger man here.

I also will add I can't see Conn winning more than a few rounds at best here.
