Lawrence Okolie vs John Tate
Who wins over 12?
Re: Lawrence Okolie vs John Tate
I've never seen Okolie fight, so I can't venture an opinion. But I know Okolie's is a cruiserweight, weighing 199 lbs at most. I'm wondering if this small physical size might be an insurmountable handicap against the 235 lbs Tate.
Tate was a hell of a lot better than most people think. He wasn't just physically imposing: he also possessed speed and agility. Big John's technical skill was considerable too.
Too bad Tate's career was derailed by a fragile chin, weak ego, and, ultimately, substance abuse. IMO he had all the requisite tools to successfully rebound from his Weaver and Berbick debacles. But it didn't happen.
