Without a doubt the best card of the year so far!!! top to bottom,
Anybody have any good bets
im going on Dempsey KO/tko at 9-1. Hrgovic very inactive and wasn't great against Zhang

Re: Any good bets for Saturday night?
I do like my heavyweight fights regardless of whether it’s 2 novices fighting in an 8 rounds like Ignatius v Robinson a few weeks ago or if it’s AJ v Usyk.
Fisher v Armstrong holds some questions as Armstrong managed to go the 8 round distance vs Jamie TKV who looks more skilful than Fisher. Fisher looked knackered over 6 when he went the distance against Gabe Enguema. Armstrong looked a blubbering mess in terms of appearance against TKV but I’ll give him credit for having an engine of sorts, he was throwing leather (of a southern area sort of level) to the end. I see Fisher as a loss waiting to happen and I think when he does lose the opponent will be a huge outsider as the bookies will see a big guy sparring with the very top guys with almost all KOs on his record.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all for Armstrong to be the one slightly less knackered going into round 7-8 for the ‘down the stretch’ rounds.

Helenius by stoppage 12-1
Armstrong to beat Fisher by stoppage 25-1

Richard Torres jr by ko 1-4. Not great odds but hes fighting someone who got knocked out by Frank Sanchez and Jermaine franklin two non punchers.

£50 on each and a ten spot on the doubleI think 12-1 on Helenius is a great price. Stick 50 on the double and you'll get close to £20k!
However I`m hoping Fisher blows his wad early and then gasses, towel comes in as he takes a prolonged feather fisted shellacking. no way the ref will stop Fisher.
Helenius has a chance. I saw what he did to Kownacki. If AJ is gunshy around the big lump he might get plastered
The odds are what they are for a reason usually, but as very outside chance its worth a punt.

Armstrong by KO at 23-1 looks good to me. dont think it hapens but at those odds, 10 rounder... if he can stay composed and be there after 6 or 7 he is a chance, johny seems fit, but can get a bit over enthusiastic which could cost him if a fight goes deep.
Hrg by knockout at 1.50 is pretty nice if you have somthing to pair it with (i hate betting favorites on there own), dempsy has always looked very limmited to me, just cant see him making it 12 rounds with hrg.
Not this Saturday, but my favorite bet available at the moment is joyce by stoppage paying 4.50ish . i know he looked shit and lost.. but his team obviosly think he can win. and with there difference in staminas, if it makes it to round 8 i just cant see zhang surviving. @4.50 i like it a lot.

AJ round 1 is 14/1 with Hills, which seems insane to me.
I also have round 2 and hedged 3, 4 and 5

Re: Any good bets for Saturday night?
Yeah every now and then the bookies just cock up their odds on early knockouts (meaning the specific round betting on the first 3 rounds.) It’s given me two of maybe my 5 biggest ever wins and by miles my biggest ever odds winner when I had Amir Khan in round 1 vs that guy who mentioned AJ shagging his missus in the build up. It was something like 33/1 and you could tell from the opponent on the scale that he hadn’t trained and was tiny compared to Khan.Bard of Boxrec wrote: ↑11 Aug 2023, 04:35 AJ round 1 is 14/1 with Hills, which seems insane to me.

I reckon AJ in rounds 1 and rounds 2 would pay a lot if round 1 is 14/1 like you say.

Got a funny feeling about Robert Helenius, It’s such a weird and ridiculous situation he finds himself in, to be fighting in what’s pretty much a world title eliminator, out of the blue, the week after you’ve just had a fight. It’s like he’s playing with house money here, nothing to lose and big enough to hit the jackpot if he lands.

Armstrong weighed in almost 10lbs lighter than his fight vs TKV.

My 11-12-13/1 tip on Armstrong wasn’t the worst I’ve ever made.

I’ve won a bit live tonight with the Hatton and Hrgovic fight and lost 45 on Armstrong. Think I’m up about £50 or so.
Gone for £30 each on AJ in rounds 1 2 and 3
