Press Release

On February 23, the Colisée Desjardins in Victoriaville will pulsate to the beat of the Quebec-Ontario rivalry as Montrealer Steven Butler and Torontonian Steve Rolls face off in the finals of Eye of the Tiger's first event in the region.

Presented in association with the Tigres de Victoriaville and DiBella Entertainment, the evening will be broadcast simultaneously on the ESPN+ network and PunchingGrace.com.

"We are very excited to establish ourselves in Victoriaville through this partnership with the Tigres, and we've made sure to make a mark at the Colisée Desjardins with a premiere event worthy of the major leagues! Local-flavored duels often garner great enthusiasm, but in this case, with Steven Butler and Steve Rolls, two Canadian boxers of international caliber, we are certain to deliver quite a show," notes EOTTM president Camille Estephan.

After making changes to his training regimen, Butler (33-4-1, 27 KOs) returned to victory in his fight against Ivan Alvarez, stopping him in the ninth round on November 14th. With the help of his new trainer John Scully, nicknamed "Bang Bang" and currently ranked 1st in the 160 lb category in Canada, Butler aims to continue his progress and reclaim the top spot in the middleweight division, starting with the #2 Canadian, Rolls.

"I have to be the best version of Bang Bang to emerge victorious in this fight against Rolls, I'm aware of that, and I'll be ready. The changes in my team have already shown results, and in this fight, we'll witness even more progress in my evolution," says Butler.

Toronto's Rolls (22-3, 12 KOs) has a solid track record since his professional debut, having faced some of the biggest names in the division such as Gennady Golovkin and Edgar Berlanga.

Last September, he lost by unanimous decision in his bout against the powerful southpaw Austin Williams, losing grip of the IBF North American title. Also at a turning point in his career, Rolls will undoubtedly give his all against Butler to demonstrate that he still belongs in the division. Boxing enthusiasts can thus expect an intense match between the two fighters, for whom losing is not an option.

Press Release

Logistical issues have compelled Eye of the Tiger to postpone its event initially planned for February 23 at the Colisée Desjardins in Victoriaville. While the plans to present an event in the Centre-du-Québec region are still in place, the card will be held on a date to be announced later.

The highly anticipated bout between Montreal slugger ranked 1st in the Canadian middleweight category, Steven Butler (33-4-1, 27 KOs), and his Ontario rival, #2 Steve Rolls (22-3, 12 KOs), will still take place, now scheduled for March 7 at the Casino de Montreal.

Also on this card, Thomas Chabot (9-0, 7 KOs), Luis Santana (10-0, 4 KOs), Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse (6-1, 2 KOs), Wilkens Mathieu (5-0, 3 KOs), Jhon Orobio (5-0, 5 KOs), and Moreno Fendero (2-0, 1 KO) will be in action as originally planned.

Press Release | Osleys Iglesias vs. Marcelo Coceres Added To Butler-Rolls Card on March 7

Eye of the Tiger's new recruit, Osleys Iglesias (9-0, 8 KOs), will arrive in Montreal for the first time to compete in a 12-round bout on March 7. To make a proper introduction, the current IBO champion of the super-middleweights aims to impress the Quebec audience against the ever-competitive Marcelo Coceres (32-6-1, 18 KOs) in the ring at the Cabaret du Casino de Montreal.

The complete card, featuring the Quebec-Ontario showdown Butler-Rolls as the main event, will be broadcast live from 7:00 p.m. on Punching Grace and ESPN+ in the United States.

A southpaw boxer of Cuban origin, Iglesias is currently ranked 11th globally according to BoxRec, 16th by the WBC, and holds the IBO belt in the 168 lb category. He will be fighting in front of Quebec fans for the first time, and his explosive style is sure to captivate. Iglesias proved himself in the amateur ranks with 200 fights and significant victories against fellow Cubans Arlen Lopez and David Morell.

He turned professional in 2019 and has since dominated each of his matches. He showcased his skills against veteran Isaac Chilemba, going the distance over 12 rounds and winning by unanimous decision.

The Argentine right-hander brings extensive experience with 225 boxing rounds under his belt compared to the Cuban's 34. Coceres has fought against big names in the super-middleweight division such as Billy Joe Saunders, Edgar Berlanga, Diego Pacheco, and also against the current #2 WBA, #3 WBC, and #5 IBF, Erik Bazinyan. Nicknamed "El Terrible," Coceres is experienced in championship fights and is accustomed to battling in hostile territory. Physically advantaged by his stature and longer reach than Iglesias, he has what it takes to keep the Cuban southpaw at bay and give him a tough challenge.

"Adding another exciting fight on March 7 to a card that was already very interesting with the Butler vs. Rolls final and the WBC world championship for Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse makes us very proud. It also shows that boxing in Quebec attracts world-class talent much to the delight of boxing fans. Iglesias vs. Coceres promises to be a hostile fight that should get the crowd going," notes EOTTM president Camille Estephan.

Press Release

Two action-packed international cards will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. this week on ESPN+.

The action begins Thursday at Casino de Montreal in Montreal, Canada, as two-time middleweight world title challenger Steven Butler takes on Steve Rolls in the 10-round main event.

Butler-Rolls and undercard battles will stream live beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.

Butler (33-4-1, 27 KOs), a 10-year pro, challenged Ryota Murata for the WBA middleweight world title in December 2019. Despite a setback in his return fight against Jose de Jesus Macias in 2021, he rallied with a four-fight win streak, including a second-round TKO over Mark DeLuca. The 28-year-old suffered a stoppage loss in a bid for the WBO strap against Janibek Alimkhanuly last May. He is coming off a ninth-round TKO against Mexican veteran Ivan Alvarez in November. Rolls (22-3, 12 KOs) gave stiff tests to unbeaten talents Edgar Berlanga and Austin Williams after losing his ‘0’ against former division kingpin Gennadiy Golovkin in June 2019.

In other streaming action from Montreal:

Osleys Iglesias (9-0, 8 KOs) vs. Marcelo Coceres (32-6-1, 18 KOs), 10 Rounds, Super Middleweights

Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse (6-1, 2 KOs) vs. Abril Vidal (10-1, 4 KOs), 10 Rounds, Vacant WBC Heavyweight World Title

Arthur Biyarslanov (13-0, 11 KOs) vs. Cristian Palma (33-13-2, 7 KOs), 8 Rounds, Junior Welterweights

Luis Santana (10-0, 4 KOs) vs. Emiliano Martin Garcia (19-9-1, 13 KOs), 8 Rounds, Lightweights

Mehmet Unal (8-0, 7 KOs) vs. Facundo Galovar (15-10-2, 9 KOs), 8 Rounds, Light Heavyweights

Wow stunning knock out. Rolls is usually very tough. Never looked at all in trouble with Berlanga and won some rounds. Good to see John Scully training Butler now. Still very young and can punch.
