Zhankosh Turarov vs Akihiro Kondo
On DAZN now , seen Turarov a few times now, I like him but his opposition is horrendous, unbeaten in about 27 fights still no step up, haven't seen Kondo in years, remember him fighting Lipinets

excellent just got back from gym and going to warch this, although the current fight appears to be a woman doing a random dance towards the ring. Very odd.handsofstone wrote: ↑10 Dec 2023, 10:48 On DAZN now , seen Turarov a few times now, I like him but his opposition is horrendous, unbeaten in about 27 fights still no step up, haven't seen Kondo in years, remember him fighting Lipinets

female ends with knee injury, we're now being treated to the announcer doing some mad dancing in the ring with some proper Russian music. I've listened to it for 1 minute and now want to charge into battle. No idea what the words mean but it's great.

Kondo way down after 9 rounds and eye nearly closed. Tough guy though, still engaging.

Turarov pressed for knockout but Kondo held on, good fight, very comprehensive victory. Crowd chuffin' love Turarov.

Not sure the scores as my fire stick never had volume, I had Turarov ahead 119-109, domination, Kondo is one hard mofo, thought he was getting stopped by the halfway, he was taking a trimming, eyes bleeding and swollen shut, thought his corner or ref might save him from himself but he made the 12, was dangerous enough with those occasional left hooks to keep Turarov alert, Turarov is well schooled, good jab good variety, brings sustained methodical pressure, opened Kondo up a few times , some lovely uppercuts and had him wilting but couldn't put him away, Turarov desperately needs a step up now, hard to keep praising him beating this opposition

Good assessment of the fight, I also thought it might have been a humane corner to pull Kondo, but he was throwing to the very end. Tough tough man.handsofstone wrote: ↑10 Dec 2023, 12:59 Not sure the scores as my fire stick never had volume, I had Turarov ahead 119-109, domination, Kondo is one hard mofo, thought he was getting stopped by the halfway, he was taking a trimming, eyes bleeding and swollen shut, thought his corner or ref might save him from himself but he made the 12, was dangerous enough with those occasional left hooks to keep Turarov alert, Turarov is well schooled, good jab good variety, brings sustained methodical pressure, opened Kondo up a few times , some lovely uppercuts and had him wilting but couldn't put him away, Turarov desperately needs a step up now, hard to keep praising him beating this opposition
Agree re stepping up next, definitely needed, can't be a reluctance to travel as he's fought a lot in America and even popped up in Cardiff. Be good to see his true level in a test, he has been pro long enough.

Thanks, Dream Boxing shows on DAZN are the worst by far, I've no idea whats next for Turarov, he is good, was open to the left hooks but could be switching off against a guy he's schoolingSeanBrennan wrote: ↑10 Dec 2023, 16:09Good assessment of the fight, I also thought it might have been a humane corner to pull Kondo, but he was throwing to the very end. it was the 10 minute dancing from the announcer which threw me....handsofstone wrote: ↑10 Dec 2023, 16:13Thanks, Dream Boxing shows on DAZN are the worst by far, I've no idea whats next for Turarov, he is good, was open to the left hooks but could be switching off against a guy he's schoolingSeanBrennan wrote: ↑10 Dec 2023, 16:09Good assessment of the fight, I also thought it might have been a humane corner to pull Kondo, but he was throwing to the very end. There's an awful lot of boxing on DAZN at the minute. Long may it continue.

Ben Whitaker is going to the IBHOF on first ballot.
