British Masters title's

Can anyone tell me what constitutes these. I presumed it had something to do with age, but Steve Sparticus is fighting Sammy Price (age 23) for the LHW version next month???

Nothing constitutes getting a shot at these.......NAthan Joseph v Earl Ling also fihght for the cruiser title in Norwich,they are both in the bottom half a dozen in the british ratings,its just getting worse. :(

I think they are a way of rewarding those fighters who wouldn't normally fight for a title (perhaps Area ones, I suppose). Anyone can fight for them, I believe.

One of the main motivations behind them is to get fighters fighting...anyone can challenge anyone else and when they do, the champion has to fight them within 30 days or give up the belt.

I could just be being overly-romantic but I'd rather have these than the WBU, etc. Nice for fighters who wouldn't have won anything else to tell their kids that they once fought for the British Masters title. Or am I just being silly?

I can see the potential behind a 'title' that promotes regular fights and free-for-all competition. And I suppose it would be aimed mainly at smaller or self-managed boxers who are up for anything and arn't afraid to have a go.
