*NEW DATE* Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson exhibition - Netflix - 15th November 2024 (Texas)

Post by Controversial »

Myself and Ruthless RKO posted this at the same time and appears we both deleted our posts at the same time when we spotted each others posts

So here it is again.

https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/1 ... ix-in-july

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have announced they will fight in a heavyweight boxing contest live on Netflix at AT&T Stadium in Texas on Saturday July 20.

It beckons as another beacon of the crossover era as YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul faces his toughest test yet against former world heavyweight champion Tyson.

Paul is 9-1 in the ring after recording a first-round stoppage win over Ryan Bourland at the beginning of March, the only blemish on his record being a defeat to Tommy Fury in the pair's grudge match last year.

Tyson, who will have turned 58 by the time the fight arrives, retired from professional boxing back in 2005 with a 50-6 record as a former undisputed heavyweight champion.

"It's crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson's undercard. Now, less than four years later, I'm stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing's most notorious fighters and biggest icons," said Paul.

"Whether you're tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you're team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you're a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you're not going to want to miss this event. I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.

"My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion ever, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. This will be the fight of a lifetime."

I sincerely hope this is a genuine exhibition. I really don’t want to see a fit 27 year old in with a 57 year old who smokes pot.

Diabolical, if its a real fight. I hope I am wrong, but think Tyson would lose at this stage. I'm not sure I could bear to see him lose to someone like Jake Paul, and that on top of all the potential damage to his health.

Even worse, Tyson will be 58 when it happens

Jake Paul earned close to $50m Last year from boxing, I believe he was the 3rd highest earner in the sport. what is the world coming too  this will be another cheeky 20 milly for sure.

This has potentially to be really dangerous.

Tyson is couple years off 60, a big cannabis user, and probably weighing similar weight to Paul about now too.

McBride stopped Tyson many years ago to show how washed up Tyson was even back then. The myth of Tyson has grown but the fighter has long ago disappeared.

I can only hope this will be a real exhibition where they spar to an agreed plan.

Rumored that this might actually be a sanctioned pro bout.

It is Texas, so it would not surprise me.

I would guess Paul himself. He had his own promotional company and a bigger reach than any of the other promoters.

I hope it's not an Exhibition. I hope it's a fight that Mike Tyson loses.

If he's gonna agree to it. He deserves the loss.

I also don't want Jake Paul to walk back his "I don't do Exhibitions" comment from years ago. He's a douche, but a marketable one. If he starts doing exhibitions instead of fights, I suspect his marketability goes down. Not with this one obviously, but I'd rather it be a fight.

It'd be even better if Mike just uses this as an opportunity for people to get it through their goddamn head that these big name older fighters are F*CKING RETIRED. Like as in. The bell rings. Jake Paul throws a jab at him, and he just falls down and gets his check.

Everybody feel ripped off? Well too f*cking bad. You wanted to watch a 60 year old man fight, you deserve to be ripped off.

Of course it’s not a real fight. It’ll be choreographed to the nth degree.

The only people getting beat up here are the suckers who buy the PPV who will take a big hit financially for zero entertainment

I hope so - but I still remember how Holyfield was blitzed rather crudely in his exhibition.

Exhibition or not. I promise you Jake Paul WILL take the opportunity to legitimately beat up Mike Tyson if he gets him in the ring. He knows it'll make him a villain to some of the internet, and a hero to a smaller portion, and it'll be money.

Plus he'll get to brag that he beat up Mike Tyson. Boxing fans will know better. Nerds on the internet may not.

The thing for Mike to do here is basically go down from the first jab, and just take his money. If he tries to beat up Jake Paul. He's not gonna be able to, and that'll be humiliating.

I don’t think Jake has anything to gain by really going for a 58 yr old man.

The money will roll in regardless from his core audience who’ll be eager to see him fight “the baddest man on the planet “ a man so vile and medieval he even bit his opponent’s ear off. Mike will happily play along with this caricature image and after a gentle move around in the ring they’ll both laugh all the way to the bank with barely a bump or bruise on either of them.

Slightly ashamed to say I find this intriguing and will watch it. Jake Paul isn't even British level and Tyson has forgotten more than he will ever know, yet the age and energy levels make it an attraction.

I do hope Tyson KOs him even though it's not within the spirit of an exhibition. I'd even support a bit of ear biting.

This is bad. I hope they are just fleecing people and get in there and pitterpatter....

-Mike tyson is late 50s.
-he was bad 20 years ago.
-his prime was 30+ years ago.

If paul knocks mike tyson out it will be gross and he will loose lot of fans....

Unless the stratergy is KO tyson, then book a fight with canelo and break PPV records of people tunning in to watch canelo cave his head in.
