If it's a fair fight and scored correctly, I think Flint wins.

Flint has been very well looked after himself.

Just by looking at flint on boxrec you know he’s not going to be up to much. Flint has beat 2 people with winning records, 1 who never boxed after flint beat him (only his 3rd fight)and the other had a record of 6-0 only beating 1 fighter himself with a winning record.

I'm very confident of Hatton winning inside the distance

However he would have never have been matched against this fella a couple of years ago

Can't see him winning inside the distance myself but it will depend on how active Flint is. If he is just taking the counter punching role and fighting negatively then Hatton wins on points due to his higher volume. If Flint matches his volume or his counter game reduces Hattons volume then I'd pick Flint, not that he would get the decision as this is probably the most corrupt country in the world when it comes to boxing.

One thing about matching home fighters against boxers with winning records is that the away fighter typically goes for broke rather than retreating into their shell

His record does suggest that. Hatton is starting to get more live looking opponents but they’re still protecting the brand that is his name. Interesting fight this..

Hatton did make me laugh when Flint started giving it to him at the weigh in face to face he just said ‘you look like an orange twat mate.’

I know it's really irrelevant what's been talked about, as the talk stops in the ring, but connections I've spoken too today have said Flint is up for this inside the distance.

Personally as I've never seen Flint fight before, and both fighters don't seem to have much punch power I'm still thinking it will go the 10 rounds. Hopefully Flint gets in but it is an I treating match up this one.

I like Hatton, comes across a nice kid, people constantly bring up the silver spoon and the undeserving opportunities he's got just because he's Ricky's son but along with that comes the hate and criticism that's unlike most novices, especially without much of an amateur pedigree, maybe with top class sparring and guidance he can pick up a British title in a few years, he's got incredible heart, he deserves his props regardless of his ceiling

Campbell is brave and game for sure - but he has absolutely no defence and very little power by the looks of it. He has a huge advantage over all his opponents in being a full-time pro and being very carefully matched, but still looks sh1t.
Is that he is only 5`6 and campaigning at 10st a factor? ... is he a weight or two above where he should be so giving away natural strength?

As others have said here - soon as he meets a puncher he will get bashed up quite brutally. I`m sure his father can see that and knows its inevitable if he continues much longer.

With the dangers of boxing pretty well known, I really don`t understand any parent encouraging their children to do it unless they had no other options.

Agreed. The lad showed tons of heart and bottle. You either have that or you don't and he showed he has. He never really stopped trying and fought through getting hurt and struggling at times. You have to give him immense credit for it.

Getting favorable treatment when you were already born with the silver spoon in your mouth is what rubbed people the wrong way. Everyone knows Marcus McDonnell was the only guy in the world who had him winning that earlier fight. The likes of McDonnell don't do the lad any favours by giving what most people consider to be bent cards to Campbell as the public then turns on you and wants to see your comeuppance.

Moving forward I don't see much improvement at the moment so Magic Matthew either has to go or get in a good assistant. Better sparring is surely needed and many hours doing technical drills. Develop a jab for one thing. He's still young at the game and developing and who knows what he can do but serious changes are needed. I am a fan of the lad now after that and I think he can get people behind him now but he has to ask himself if it's worth it. Ricky has a few quid and surely Campbell could just buy some properties and manage them or something like that. really good post this, I agree. And I'd be nowhere the ring either. I think Campbell just wants to box, so fair play. Getting a different trainer would be good. Who do you think would be good for him?

Last few rounds Hatton got really sloppy and almost looked out of gas, looked like he was on auto pilot.
Up till that point it was Flint doing most of the quality scoring, Hatton had spurts and stayed in the fight.
But gotta hand it to Flint, he invested a lot and was made to work for it and got it done.

Some good info on this thread. Here's my take...

Hatton has been lucky with his 'band' projection already in place due to his fathers success, sadly his performances have been below the level we would expect from that type of family genes. BBBC judges have historically done him favours, almost bent favours.

Hatton is brave, game, gutsy but limited. he will be fortunate to land an area title and i doubt very much that we will see his arm raised in an english or british title encounter. Im not saying he cant improve in future but he is going to take a lot of punishment whilst trying to improve, I dont actually think its worth it. He has limited head movement and trades with his chin in the air with not the best shot selection.

In Flints previous fights he had faced very very poor opposition with his opponents losses totalling over 600 . You could argue that it was Flint that came of age the other night. Campbell H has so so far to go to secure any belt, area or above.

Campbell H is kindly ranked 29 in UK by Boxrec at LW and i wouldnt rate his chances of beating anyone above him in those ratings, what do you guys think?

Lee Appleyard and Tom Farrell are ranked below him. I feel a scrap with either of these 2 would let us know if Campbell Hatton has a viable future in the game. I hope to god they dont step him up to Welterweight and blame weight drain on his fitness as im sure he will get iced up there. If they insist on a move up to WW then stick him in with the ginger rocket so jamie can earn some good coin.
