Nope, Zhang ignored his own rematch clause and signed to fight Wilder, leaving Parker out with no dance partner.
Dude's gotta find someone to fight.

He should have offered to fight both of them at the same time

There's nothing surely about it. Parker seems to have improved, Whyte hasn't had good momentum lately, it's plausible that Parker could actually get his win back. Not to mention, Parker is generally running out of people to fight as he's already fought Joshua, Wilder, Whyte, Ruiz, Joyce, and Zhang (and Usyk / Fury might be tied up as well as possibly Hrgovic / Dubois and even Kabayel - Sanchez). If he doesn't fight Whyte, then you think he should be fighting Wallin who was stopped 4 months ago? Or just same random from on down the rankings like Lenier Pero?

... I mean, putting aside the timing of the tweet and the silliness, which... sure. But the match-up is still completely logical.

Very funny, but Parker would be looking backwards if he goes for a Whyte rematch.

Whyte hasn't done anything of note recently, whereas Parker has got himself right back at the top table and if he beats Zhang, he's ready for a shot at a trinket.

Beating Wilder, Zhang and Whyte in a year would be the best short run of any heavyweight in years in terms of name value. I can't actually think of the last time a heavyweight had a run of names that big in such a short amount of time. He would avenge a tough loss against someone he is now a big favourite over, whilst also making the most money he can from an opponent not named Joshua that isn't tied up in other fights. He is risking his WBO mandatory but that won't happen for another year.

Just see if as a keeping busy fight until he gets his mandatory shot rather than an opportunity to propel him closer to a title shot. I think it makes most sense for him in that capacity. An opponent like Bakole carries risk and little reward. Who else is even left unless he becomes inactive?

You know, you're bang on the money to be fair.

The titles are going to be locked out for a while regardless of what Parker does, so he might as well get some revenge over a guy he could have beaten had their fight been about 30 seconds longer.

Whyte was beyond exhausted at the end of their fight and I think had the fight been much longer, he would have collapsed through sheer exhaustion.
