It’s been going a while, but just wanted to use this space to say how amazing the “vintage boxing” YouTube channel is. It’s a boxing anorak with a love of nostalgia wet dream.

Amazing quality and often full shows… I never knew the boxing theme on itv that was played in the 70s. The two itv ones in the 80s were gems, the one from the 70s is hillarious.

Having the ability to type in the names of greats like Salvador Sanchez and getting high quality footage is definitely much appreciated from this viewer. I remember the days of not being able to watch Roy Jones fights in his prime because they weren't broadcasted in the UK and there was no YouTube around.

Yeah. In those days you had to send £15 to a feller on the Isle of Wight who would send you the fights on a 4 hour VHS tape...

Yeah. I loved it when TC and WBVA started up. I’ve still got DVDs of thousands of fights. Haven’t been watched in years but can’t bring myself to throw them away.

Yeah. I loved it when TC and WBVA started up. I’ve still got DVDs of thousands of fights. Haven’t been watched in years but can’t bring myself to throw them away.

I had a 3TB drive fail that was full of stuff from there, it was an incredible library. I had nearly every fight listed by that fight guy, Lee Groves. Tales from the Vaults. Lost it all. I still have 100s and 100s of DVDs and used to upload custom made DVDs there regularly there but got so fed up of the politics. I had an insane ratio on both sites. When the drive failed I stopped even logging on and going to either. I actually have 100s of VHS tapes in plastic boxes, I keep meaning to take them to the tip. It's basically most of the big (and not so big) fights off TV from 90 ish to 98. entire SKY cards etc.

A different time.

I had about 500 DVDs with many fights on each. I started off writing the names of the fights on each dvd on paper then started a Microsoft access database to keep track of what I had.

I didn’t get involved much with the politics there but had a good ratio. Enough to keep things sweet. If ever I needed a boost I just listed a handful of Lennox Lewis fights and things were fine.

I stopped using it at a similar time to BNation launching. It seemed we then had a period where the vast bulk of cards were televised in the U.K. so I had a normal way of watching.

Some fella called David Kirkwood on YouTube uploads classic British fights. A fella with the user name WOOODYA or something used to put up 80s and 90s fights also
