FURY V AJ

Post by coneye »

Don't think i would be too bothered if Fury Usyk gave the rematch a miss , personaly i think Usyks team are too profesional and would build on that win next time going and getting a stoppage , While they would be working on adding to the repotaur Fury will still be trying to sort his training team out , and do nothing different .

However Fury ---AJ still holds appeal for me , who would win i don't know , remember Usyk beat AJ twice AJ does'nt have the skillset that Usys got however he does have the size strenght and punch to take Fury out IF HE CAN LAND .

for me its still a very interesting one that i would rather see next

Joshua turned down the Fury fight twice in 9 months. Perhaps he is plotting a more “Charles Martin” type route.

AJ has a puncher's chance, and a really big one at that, but their respective performances against Usyk make it pretty clear how much more skilled Fury is.

It's a fight I'd love to go and watch. Certainly the biggest British heavyweight fight since Bruno v Bugner.

I would be rooting for AJ though

Would be a good fight now.

I think AJ has found his aggression again, and whilst Fury is the more relaxed and fluid fighter, he can, as we have seen, be hurt - and Joshua at his best, is a very good boxer himself, albeit more orthodox.

I can see Tyson boxing rings around him, but then getting caught, and I wonder if he could survive the onslaught if Joshua hurt him with a full blooded shot.

I think it may happen, though I think Fury would probably lose to ATG Usky in a rematch, than to his biggest domestic rival, losing to Joshua hurts his legacy a lot more than losing again to Usyk.

For his much vaunted elusive skills, there's always a point nowadays where Fury gets caught and hurt.
I can see him whipping out his jab, moving around and taking a lead against Joshua, marking him up around the eyes, but ultimately, getting caught and finished around the 9th/10th round.

Joshua fought usyk twice and fared better then fury .
He KO`d wallin who gave fury a torrid mare .
he KO`d Ngannou who put fury down and came very close to a win in some peoples eyes .

These are comparables which indicate to me that AJ beats Fury if they fight - probably by stoppage .

I'm not sure Fury could lower himself to fight Joshua after the years of mouthing off.

Yes - but, as we know, styles make fights. Fury has some advantages that could make the difference, Joshua is less mobile - it's notable that Usyk didn't try and use lateral movement against Fury - I suspect because he realised that Fury, with his own mobility and reach, would be a match for him, so he pressed forward.

Against joshua, he was moving constantly laterally, and potshotting from angles.

Yes - Fury would likely outbox and out think AJ right up until he gets caught by the big punch.

If the crude Wilder and novice Ngannou can find the target, then its a certainty AJ does too.

Aside from his recovery powers, Its another strength of Furys that he has awareness what to do when hurt.
When Usyk rattled him he instinctively tried to grab and smother, but Usyk bounced another big shot off him .. Fury tried to grab and smother again and shipped another head rattling punch. Fury then had the awareness to try and get as far away as possible but his legs were totally gone by that stage.

AJ is a spiteful finisher and would have landed that punch Usyk hesitated to throw as the referee jumped in.

I hope Fury and Uysk both retire. Saturday was a very tough fight. A highly skilled, bruising, world class encounter, but I'm not sure there is much to be gained from carrying on.

I didn't like to see how hurt Fury was in that 9th round. He walked back to his stool so slowly. When you factor in getting dropped in his previous fight as well, I think it is time to put his health first. Ultimately, that's the most important thing.

I agree, by the time the ref had gotten there, it would be to remove Fury's gumshield. Joshua defintely has a nasty streak when his man is hurt.

50/50 in my opinion, if Saturday’s Fury shows up. Many confident of AJ finishing him. The opposite is also entirely possible.

Yes i agree - although Fury is not a huge puncher, I can imagine him bedazzling AJ in the early rounds, and landing enough to stop him - however, can also see that happening, and Joshua landing enough of his own to keep Fury honest, then catching him clean when he slows down, and sparking him out.

Funny, there was a period early in their careers where I strongly favoured Joshua, then strongly favoured Fury, post Ruiz when joshua looked very gunshy, and now, I think it's a pick'em.

Fury vs AJ was never going to happen.

Joshua is a puppet.

Look who he rolls with.

AJ turned down the Fury fight 2/3 times.

And AJ ducked Wilder (Facts)

Fury doesn't need AJ anyway.

Fury got put on queer street by a gap toothed middleweight rabbit who had previously been beaten by a welterweight in the amateurs and is no bigger than Fury's wife. Doesn't bode well for facing Joshua given how leaky his defence is nowadays.

I hear you. Fury v Ngannou / Fury v The World’s Champion Boxer. A person could suffer whiplash if you throw AJ v Ngannou between them. Oh, wait.

Now you're just making things up. Joshua wasn't bouncing off every rope like Bambi on ice and almost stopped. Doesn't bode well at all.

What battered him to shite all over the ring until the referee has to step in to administer the a count, as he was unable to defend himself?

Sorry, which rounds was that in you mental (and phyical) midget?

fthink fury v aj would still be a massive fight and could easily sell wembley out twice over , thinkbefore the ngannou right (fury)i would definitely favoured fury but since then and aj's form picking up id lean to aj , i think the trilogy of fights with wilder has seriously taken its toll and on wilder given his performance against parker
