cuts rule

Having read about Neil Sinclairs recent loss because of a bad cut in the first round, i think its about time the Board maybe changed its mind on their cuts rule.

I think it should be, If a cut happens because of a cut in the first couple of rounds it should be a no-contest, then the cut boxer doesn't have an early round loss on his record.

For Neil Sinclair, if in future years someone looks at his record all they will see is a 1st round loss, and would think he got chinned.

And maybe also if a boxer gets knocked out in the last round when he is very tired

I agree with the rule stateside, if the cut happens following a clash of heads before the completion of 4 rounds it should be declared a no contest. If it happens via a punch then the non-cut guy should win.

For me, a cut is part of the game I consider it the same if someone is prone to cut as someone with a dodgy chin. If a punch lands on the chin and the guy falls then the count will begin. However, if a clash of heads manages to disorientate a fighter then there will not be a count.

Similarly with cuts - if its happens via a punch then fair enough the cut guy should lose, if not then it should be declared a no-contest. I believe Sinclair's occured via a head clash - he can call himself very unlucky.

Yes, if a cut is caused by a punch then it should go down as a stoppage, but not if its caused by a headclash
