Denny And Cash Set To Clash For European Middleweight Crown

Felix Cash’s first fight with trainer Adam Booth in his corner will be for the European middleweight title.

Cash challenges Tyler Denny at Resorts World Arena Birmingham on Saturday, June 22, live worldwide on DAZN.

Former British and Commonwealth Cash, who formerly was with Tony Sims, has been beset by out-of-the-ring problems and has not fought since December 2022 when he won an eight-rounder against Portugal’s Celso Neves.

He is ranked No. 8 by The Ring and is 16-0 (10 KOs) while Denny, 18-2-3 (1 KO) won the belt from Mateo Signani on a memorable night at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton last November, stopping the veteran Italian in eight rounds to extend his winning streak to five.

Cash is hoping for a world title shot later in the year.

“I’m buzzing to be defending my European Title and against such a good fighter in Felix Cash,” said Denny. “Add to the fact it’s in Birmingham so the Black Country army will be out in full force to witness a great fight and one that I’m confident of winning.”

“Tyler Denny is a solid professional, but I have no time to lose,” admitted Cash. "My plan is to get him out of my way as quickly as possible and move on to world level.”

The undercard has also been set.

Belfast welterweight contender Lewis Crocker (19-0, 11 KOs) looks to extend his unbeaten run when he meets Wolverhampton's Conah Walker (13-2-1, 5 KOs) in what promises to be an explosive match-up over 10 rounds.

“I’m happy to be back out so soon,” said Crocker. “Thanks to Matchroom and Conlan Boxing for keeping me busy. I’m looking forward to this fight as I know Walker is the type of guy who’s going to come and meet me in the middle of the ring. He won’t be able to handle my power in his own back garden. I believe I will knock him out.”

“I’m absolutely buzzing for this fight,” said Walker. “I think it was inevitable that me and Lewis would cross paths. I’m not taking him lightly; I know he's a phenomenal fighter. There’s a reason why he's rated at No. 2 in the UK. I jumped at the opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. A win here puts me another step forwards to where I want to go. I want to be No. 1 in the UK and I want to clean up domestically and then push on for world titles.”

Also on the bill, there is the bitter lightweight grudge match between slick Newcastle prospect Cameron Vuong (4-0, 3 KOs) and Oxford's Jordan Flynn (10-0-1, 1 KO), after they shared a post-fight pushing match on Saturday night, while Watford’s Shannon Ryan (7-0) and Newark’s Emma Dolan (6-0, 1 KO) will create history when they become the first women to contest the British super-flyweight title, with Dolan's Commonwealth title also on the line.

“I can’t wait to return to the West Midland’s for what promises to be an electric night of boxing at Resorts World Arena Birmingham,” said Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn. “It’s the long-awaited return of former British and Commonwealth middleweight champion Felix Cash under the guidance of new coach Adam Booth, and he jumps straight back in at the deep end against European champion Tyler Denny. Lewis Crocker against Conah Walker can only be an all-out war and bitter rivals Cameron Vuong and Jordan Flynn will finally get it on after all of the trash talk.”

Good fight, looking forward to this.

Cash hasnt looked the same since the Bentley fight. I recall him having a hard fight and getting dropped against a foreign chap.

Good trade fight this.
Think Denny might nick a close one. Cash seems to have lost his momentum, and his pop.

be interesting to see the impact Booth has in his corner. Looking forward to this fight. I'll admit I do not know masses about Denny though.

Wouldn't mind Brad Pauls getting a shot at the winner. He's exciting.

Denny already beat him quite comfortably for the English title. 2 judges had it by 4 and other had it by 5 rounds.

Haven't heard a peep out of Cash in the build-up to this one.

Considering his history of inactivity/pullouts I'd like to think there's a stand-in lined up for Denny.

Denny’s record right now is strikingly similar to that of Barry Jones, not least the single stoppage win in 18, on a left eye cut.

Think Cash hasn't been great in his last couple and not been too active. I know Denny's not a hitter but wouldn't be surprised if Cash gets stopped.

I think Cash's inactivity makes it a lot more interesting as we don't know what Cash will bring.

Depends what Cash was doing in the time off. He's coming off two terrible performances. If he was on the beer then he should struggle. If he was training and taking.. supplements.. then he could get back to prior form. He was holding on for dear life and lucky to get to the final bell vs Madiev and then performed very poorly against Neves who he should have been stopping comfortably. You'd definitely raise your eyebrows at that form.
