Bakole vs. Anderson

Post by pound per pound »

This is a very intriguing matchup. Bakole on the level is better, but he is about 40 pounds over his fighting weight of 260 and he was a tad overweight back then. If he gets into shape, he will stream roll the overrated Anderson who has next to no defense and can't counter punch.

Can't argue with the string of results since Bakole`s loss to Hunter.
But honestly in his last fight he was sooo fat and sooo slow. No body movement or head movement at all, just a huge lug throwing telegraphed punches.

Surely Anderson can win this?

Bakole's inactivity is his problem. He has looked good but it's impossible to judge whether he is going to come in rusty because he fights once a year, mostly against sub-par opposition.

I agree with the other posters.
If Bakole gets back into top shape, he can have a really good chance to win this.
But fat and slow isn't going to cut it.

Anderson is ridiculous. Talented yes but hasn't achieved anything and still talking retirement already...

I think Ajagba would have a better chance of beating Anderson than Bakole.

Bakole (as someone already mentioned) has been fighting infrequently against sub-par opposition and has allowed himself to become overweight. He appears to be slower than he was a few years ago.

That being said, Bakole is very strong and durable and so this will not be an easy fight for Anderson.

Bakole is a bit lighter than against Takam, 284.4 pounds this morning. 32 pounds heavier than Anderson. Should be similar to Bakole vs Yoka.

Anderson coming in at a career high; I don't get these heavyweights letting themselves come in so overweight. He doesn't have Lennox Lewis body frame, and even Lennox rarely let himself get above 250. Bakole also heavier than he should be but at least down from his last fight. Interesting style matchup-I think it comes down to who tires quicker. Usually I'd say that would be Bakole but Anderson coming in at nearly 260 doesn't instill confidence.

Not a good week for American Heavyweights. Joshua Edwards also lost in Paris. :verysad:

Anderson just does not show the passion to be a top tier Heavyweight.
I'm just not impressed by too many prospects including Bakole

I didn't like the way Jared Anderson took shots from Charles Martin. His stock with me dropped that day. Also his stock dropped further when he bragged about being in a police chase.

It is his defense and lack of character that are the main issues for Anderson. Oh yeah, he has a very average chin too.

Fraud Yoka went the distance with Bakole.

A good win for Bakole, but it was only Anderson.

Michael Hunter is now the highest rated US HW on Boxrec  at 36 years old he has an opportunity to become their next hype train but he won't take it.

He didn’t seem too disappointed about dropping his “0”.
I doubt he’ll be back anytime soon.
