Terence Crawford Against The All-Time Greats 135-147lbs
Terence Crawford Against The All-Time Greats 135-147lbs
As he's finishing up a hall of Fame career, I'm wondering how the fans feel about him against the best of the 135lb-147lb fighters we've seen. This guy fascinates me with his southpaw style and power. He reminds me of Hagler in that he hurts his opponents with his southpaw jab and hook from odd angles. He has very long arms for a man of his height, and like Hagler who had the same attributes, he hurts opponents with his lead hand. I am a fan.

I think he loses to Floyd, Manny and Oscar at all of those weights.

Craw vs Duran at 35, 40, 47 would've all been great bouts.
Craw vs Pryor at 40, that would've been a great bout.
Craw vs Leonard, at 47. Definitely a great bout.
Craw vs Arguello, at 135, would've been a Great Bout.
Craw vs Hearns, at 47, not a good bout stylistically for Craw.
Likely, Hearns would've basically overpowered and outworked him. Only 50-50, at best, that he'd ko or tko Craw though.
It'd be kinda similar to Hearns-Benitez I think.
Craw vs Benitez, at 47, another Great Bout. Very 50-50 in my opinion.

Crawford is clearly a great fighter, but who knows just how great he is. His prime was spent fighting jeff horn, amir khan, kell brook and he usually fights once a year

I do not know if he wins against the atg's of 135-147 but he holds his own and gives anyone in history a decent fight.
Crawford is a great in his own right

Unfortunately this is such a common path of modern day boxers who transition to becoming businessmen who box sparingly, and often cherry pick as well.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑05 Aug 2024, 09:54 Crawford is clearly a great fighter, but who knows just how great he is. Kell Brook was a solid fighter. Underrated career and borderline HOF. He was giving GGG issues and a prime Spence all he could handle before the stoppage. Khan was also super talented but had no chin. Jeff Horn beat the great Pac Man even though it was a bad decision in my opinion. I had Pac winning that but Horn got the nod. I believe Craw beat Porter, Gamboa, Spence & few other top fighters. Dude has a better resume than he gets credit for. 4 weight world champion & 2 weight undisputed is impressive. I'm thinking he's got 2-3 years left and could add to his legacy with another unified or undisputed division or go up and win a title at 160 to put himself in Floyd territory with 5 divisions. The superfight with Canelo would be more competitive than some critics are saying in my opinion.Jeff_lacy_ko wrote: ↑05 Aug 2024, 09:54 Crawford is clearly a great fighter, but who knows just how great he is.
