Porky's Corner
Porkys Corner
What do you all reckon?
Personally i like the opinions of Julian Mcgowan, Porky Russ is very very lucky to have Julian doing regular slots on the channel. If you havnt listend to McGowan then you need to.

Massive fan of Porky, knows his stuff, really like him, he's only 12 miles away from me, got a lot of time for him.
Re: Porkys Corner
Yeah, I like to give it a listen. I don't necessarily always agree, but he has his views and defends them to the hilt whether popular or not. I respect that
Though I can't make sense of his titles, as it's hit or miss whether they reflect any of the topics under discussion

Re: Porkys Corner
Years ago Matchroom threatened him over the phone via a third party. It's still on his YT channel, so go and listen to it.
Re: Porkys Corner
Baghead keyboard warrior mess and if you watch him you are a joke.

Re: Porkys Corner
did he say who (if he knew) who the 3rd party was?
not impossible, just read Barry Hearn's autobiog and he talks about using his business partner to bash people whilst being clear he never endorsed it...

An entertaining listen but gets a bit monotonous with the constant moaning. His fueds are funny especially with Spencer x.

I don't listen to him all the time but does anyone know how he is getting on with getting Gary Sykes the Lonsdale belt, if it hasn't been sorted already.

I agree Julian is very knowledgeable and will watch when he's on, the same when he has Terry on. As for his solo videos Porky is an acquired taste, I can watch him for a bit, then I'll need a long break before watching again.
Re: Porkys Corner
His interviews with Dennis Hobson are good

Re: Porkys Corner
that's ok, each to their own. I am decidedly biased as he's 12 miles up the road from me and I know people he knows, who he has been kind to.

Porky's Corner
Anyone else watching his channel? He has some really good regular contributors and has done some good recent videos about how most of the boxing YouTube channels are just glorified in-house PR.
He's raised good points about the clearly obvious silent bans going on with the likes of Dillian and co hence them fighting out of UK, and others not at all.
It's my favourite channel by far.

I watch, depending on the guest. Julian was brilliant but got sick of boxing politics. Go on it, Sean, you'll be better than some of them.

Re: Porky's Corner
thanks Mickey. Porky emailed me asking if I wanted to go on. I said I'm happy to but appreciate he's busy. He is putting out a lot of output, several a day. There's a really insightful Scottish chap on it from Perth, I like him. I'm not sure I've much to add to any channel but happy to share my views. thank you. My real knowledge is around PEDS in sport and possible boxing local to me, but most people swerve the PED talk.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Sep 2024, 16:11 I watch, depending on the guest. I don't watch the ones with the Scottish bloke. Not hardcore enough! I'm a bit snobbish when it comes to pundits.SeanBrennan wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 15:49thanks Mickey.
