Hasnan Ali - Tommy Sams. Weird Daily Fail article

Post by JamesPhilips »

I don’t like any mainstream media, but skim through the free ones online to see what nonsense they’re pushing on the people….

Saw this whilst skipping down the page - I mean what an odd article in a ‘paper’ thats not especially boxing mad. Just a random fight between a debutant who looked fat as, but allegedly is a prospect, Hasnan Ali, and an unbeaten fighter, who apparently was expected to lose, who came in on 24 hours notice and KO’d him brutally.

What a weird article…. I mean he was given oxygen, of course he was. Any nasty KO victim often is. I just don’t understand the point of this article.

Anyway has anyone heard of either fighter? Ali, the ‘prospect’ looked like he hadn’t trained…. Just odd.

Was his training program "run round 300 houses dropping off tickets"?

Also, a 3-0 southpaw strikes me as an unnecessarily risky choice for a debut, especially when you're clearly not in tip top shape

I had not. It was a very poor card, liked the main fight but the rest looked VERY inexpensive.

I know nothing about boxing but I'd have out a couple of HW fights on people love them

I also thought this was truly bizarre.

Ali looked like a misfits fighter. He looked out of shape & had no idea how to react once hit.

Sams is a fighter I know a bit about as he’s local to me but one thing he really isn’t is a puncher.

Just a very strange fight.

Poor kid froze under the lights. He looked like he was fighting in slow motion in a nightmare dream. The lad looked terrified before the opening bell, the dawning realisation, after selling 300 tickets, he was actually now in a fight live on TV

Absolutely bizarre matchmaking from Wasserman: they’ve got a genuine ticket seller who’s gonna be nervous in his pro debut and they match him against an undefeated fighter instead of the usual 0-13 safe start.
