Just came across Montell Griffin's interview from few years ago, where he touches on the topic of the fight with Virgil Hill. Griffin says, that, after a DQ win over Roy, he wanted to unify against Hill. But was rushed into the rematch with Jones.

There was a small window for this fight to be for undisputed (spring 1997).
