Simon Jordan (Talksport) and Boxxer

Idk if there's already a thread on this subject but - is this guy part of boxxr or what?

Hearn and Warren have both accused him of it, but he has denied it.

Then today he's on the radio saying he took part in negotiations for Buatsi vs Hutchinson.

Wait what? Why are you negotiating a fight for Buatsi?

Are Talksport ok with this? That one of their employees can apparently just use their platform to promote a business he seems to be involved in?

Seems weird. And if he is involved then listeners shoujd be told so that they realise they are not actually getting unbiased opinions from this guy.

I know Boxxer were helped at the start by a group of wealthy investors. Perhaps Jordan helped facilitate some of that. Who knows.

I do find Jordan and Spencer Oliver favour Boxxer and their fighters. Oliver also does work for Boxxer so I can kind of understand that. I don’t think he’s a very good pundit though.

You can tell by the way Jordan interviews Shalom, Hearn and Warren that he either favours or feels sorry for Shalom. He’s far more aggressive with Hearn/Warren.

The way the Sunday Times pieces laid out all these different companies attached to Boxxer, it's possible he could deny having equity "in Boxxer" directly, and that be true, yet still have equity in a related /dependant vehicle.

It's very telling i think that he's not taken any legal action against Hearn and Warren for both publicly accusing him of having a financial interest in Boxxer.

If that's not true then it's slanderous, it defames his supposed independence as a journalist. Why then has he not taken action?

Not only the way he interviews him but the way he shoehorns Shalom name into conversations constantly and always seems to be putting positive spin on him and boxxer.

Shalom draws almost universal criticism from the boxing fanbase in every comment section you read, doesn't appear to have any fans, yet Jordan is organically such a huge fan of his that he's channeling his Talksport gig into being the boxxer hype man, for free? Doesn't add up.

Jordan wouldn’t go down the legal route purely because Warren/Hearn said they thought he had an involvement in Boxxer. It would be expensive, difficult to prove because what Hearn/Warren said was fairly vague and it would impact access for TalkSPORT.

Jordan kept pushing in the last 2-3 weeks that Benn was cleared due to jurisdiction yet he only changed his tune this week. I can’t see anyone going after him/TalkSPORT for the same reason. Not a battle worth fighting.

I think TalkSPORT has gone very easy on Shalom’s links to Maz Majeed. A bloke who is dodgy as hell yet has been instrumental in bringing several boxers over to Boxxer/Sky and the claims in The Times don’t make good reading. If that was Eddie then I think Simon would have been all over him for it.
