Dave Allen Says Johnny Fisher’s Team Have Reached Out For Rematch

Allen says in speaking with Sky Sports, Fisher and his team have reached out, with an immediate rematch likely for 2025. And this time, Allen says, he will end any and all doubt about who the better fighter is by knocking “The Romford Bull” out.

“They’ve already reached out to me about a rematch,” Allen said. “I think I’ll headline a show in the UK next year from what I’ve been told, whether that will actually happen, things are always changing in this game. It [the rematch] looks like the most possible next fight for me but other people have also offered me other things. But the Fisher fight is the favourite for me. It’s a fight I’m open to happening. It’s the one on my wish list, but you never know what could happen.”

Allen, who at age 32 revived his career with his gutsy and determined showing, says he thinks a rematch with Fisher, 13-0(11) could sell out The O2 in London, and he insists that, as tough as Fisher is and was in the December battle, he was “one shot away” from getting the stoppage. This time, the stoppage win will come, says Allen, 23-7-2(18).

“I’m definitely stopping him, one million percent.”

We fans who so enjoyed the first fight have been calling for the sequel ever since. As Allen says, nothing is certain in the sport of boxing, but this rematch is one that really does seem like an absolute must.

Does Allen get the KO this time?

If Hearn mentioning it in his latest IFL interview means they've reached out, then they have.

shit fight frankly that doesnt create any real buzz for me ..

fisher got exposed and needs to go back in the gym for long enuff to learn how to move and defend his head and not just throwing big swings to KO his opponent which is pretty much all he has shown .

It was a fun competitive fight between two limited guys. Definitely not a headliner but I'd tune in for the rematch.

It's either going to be Fisher exposed as having a glass chin or Allen got lucky catching him the first time. I think Fisher's chin might have been exposed a bit.

Fisher probably KO's him in the rematch.

Fair play to Fisher and Matchroom, didn't see that coming.

Fisher needs to get on his toes, not KO him, steal rounds, and outwork Allen with flicks.
If he is fresh, Allen won't be able to get close and land the single shots

Agreed, you can question many things with Dave but not his chin

I think Fisher got an injury to his ear which affected his balance. Also I wonder if Allen will be ‘convinced’ to lose

Very important fight for Fishers career.
If he can make adjustments and actually win the rematch without Allen being convinced to throw the fight, then he has potential at least on the domestic level once Wardley drops the belt.

I can see shades of fury vs McDermott here, will think Fisher would learn enough this time to win, rembering that Fisher had moments he was in charge even in fight 1.

You can never trust Allen. He wasn't even in shape for this fight - his "last chance" and only did well because Fisher is so poor. I expect the same Allen to show up. It's a close fight which will probably go to a decision again. The dodgy Darch fight is also going to be on peoples minds. Allen just has no goodwill left in my book. That said, he clearly deserved the win over Fisher last time.

Quite often with rematches the prospect who 'got found out' in the first fight improves to win the rematch against the wiley old fox but here I think Fisher isn't going to drastically improve ever and if Dave comes in 10lbs+ lighter and has a good camp then he will have the extra gear and everything else that goes with being 10lbs plus lighter.

If they do it then fair play as we all thought no chance we ever see them two in a ring again together.

not sure fish really has much skill to fall back on. good chance allen is gonna hurt him again and johnny didnt react well the first time. but will allen have the energy to push it over the edge?

Yup. Seen it many times. First fights draw or a controversial win. Them rematch they just win it.. even then sometimes it’s still controversial.

I reckon this will be like the Seth Mitchell-Jonathan Banks fights - the prospect gets badly exposed in the first fight, but wins the rematch in highly dubious circumstances. Then doesn't go on to have much of a career afterwards anyway, making all the shenanigans a bit pointless

Allen had his chance, Fisher possibly underestimated his chances and maybe had a good lead up to Christmas with the fags and drinks. I don't think Allen has anymore armour or powerrvin the reserves to do a number on Fisher, who imo will be better prepared. Fisher isn't owt special but possibly a bit better than Allen.

He's not as good as Allen. He's younger and hasn't been battered for years by almost every top class heavyweight out there.

The reason he doesnt get knocked out is because he stays on the stool when the heat is coming :KO:

I respect your opinion but tend to take a different stance, he took a lot of heat in that fight, and has fought some very heavy punches from high level opposition over the years - Ortiz, Whyte, Yoka, Price. I understand your point vs Price and Clarke though, but do feel there was a level of redemption in the Fisher fight. Time will tell if it is sustained, I hope it is personally.

If Allen is a bit fitter he'll get the stoppage. Fisher is rotten.

dont get me wrong I liked seeing Dave doing well vs Fisher who is the one that needs to pull his socks up ..
