-Based on the ring rankings for 1960,1970,1980,1990,2000,2010,2020 and current (top 10, meaning if there is a ring champion at the time I only counted to "9th" because that's actualy the 10th guy).
-height from boxrec listing, weight from the fighters last bout of the year in question.

I was just scribbling it in a notebook trying to see how things have changed and then figured its pretty interesting so thought I'd slap it here... what I really wanted to do was age but fvck that was annoying so I didn't...
My takeaways:
-The current crop are huge both in height and weight.
-there was very little change in height from 1980-2010 (a 7 footer threw out the averages a bit, but median is similar)
-in that period of time with very little change in height there was a decent change in weight.
-i should of found a way to do it with fighter of the decade data as a sample once per decade is obviously very limited and not very good...
Interesting outliers: (these outliers might not be actual outliers as I'm only looking at once a decade data so obviously the 9 years in-between will have other anomiles like these making them not actualy outliers...)
- Gerry Coony, the first "giant to appear in my data at 6'6 in 1980
-mike Tyson (2000) , tua (2000), and Jose ibar urtan (1970) the only sub 6 footers (once again very hit and miss data)
Prediction:
-Vibing the era of more normal sized heavies coming in. 6'2-6'4.... weight prediction is tricky cause I'm expecting less jacked but also less shredded, one lowers weight and one raises it... so mabey normal weight, ish 240ish lb +- a bit, but not ripped at that weight.
Hope:
-I hope for huge variation I like the year 2000 where there's 5'10 Tyson and tua and there's 6'5+ lewis and klit and grant. keeps things interesting. because ultimently when 2 x 6'6 people fight its just like having 2 x 6'2 people fight in slow motion and with shit cardio... the giants are interesting but only if there is variety.
Average/median size of Heavyweights 1960-today...
