The same thing. Anthony Joshua by knockout. Too big, too strong, and too tall for the great Joe Louis.
Kalan would be proud of Joshua this time. He was high on this guy until he got knocked out and reality sunk in.

Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
Louis by KO 14 in their first fight and in their rematch, Louis by KO in 10 rounds as he was too quick and powerful for AJ.
Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
Joshua early. His punching power is real. Too big and strong.
Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
Joshua is too opened and he would be gunshy against such a dangerous opponent. Louis outboxes Joshua, finds an opening and scores a KO.

You know Joshua got obliterated by a fat guy half an inch taller than Louis, right?elmersalsa wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 14:54 The same thing. Anthony Joshua by knockout. Too big, too strong, and too tall for the great Joe Louis.

Joe Louis is too small for today's heavyweights. Plus, these heavyweights now are much more skilled than Abe Simon, Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 06:40You know Joshua got obliterated by a fat guy half an inch taller than Louis, right?elmersalsa wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 14:54 The same thing. I just can't picture, (again), Anthony Joshua being dropped by Two Ton Tony Galento.

Anthony Ruiz weighed in 268lbs! That's why he dropped Anthony Joshua.elmersalsa wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 17:15Joe Louis is too small for today's heavyweights. Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua weighed in in his prime 246lbs! He is 6'6". A very talented heavyweight. And still, I can't picture a 6'1", 200lbs at best in Joe Louis beating that giant.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 19:54elmer, you need to get out more.elmersalsa wrote: ↑29 Mar 2025, 17:15Joe Louis is too small for today's heavyweights. Now, if Louis trained in today's boxing with better nutrition, better methods of training, weight lifting, and bulk himself up like Evander Holyfield did, then is another story.
But, Louis will not be able to compete in today's boxing giants. Not with those primitive skills. Not with that weight. Not with that chin. And not with those training methods of 85 plus years ago.
Can you picture Joshua being dropped by a 5'7", 233lbs hot dog eating and beer drinking Two Ton Tony Galento?
C'mon, bro. Let's stop the nonsense!
Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua would likely be too big and too strong for Louis, but I could see him getting a iittle over excited, and punching himself out too or leaving himself open for a comeback assault from Louis.
My instinct tells me that AJ beats Louis by KO within the first 6 rounds, but if Louis is still there after that point in the fight, then AJ is gonna have hell getting through the final stretch of the fight.

Joshua is not going to last 6 rounds. He would be facing the hardest puncher he ever faced. Against a guy who threw a lot of punches and was accurate. Someone who knew how to put away someone when they were hurt.

Hard to gauge his power given his level of opposition. Many of Louis opponents were the size of light heavyweights.
What makes Louis a harder puncher than Beterbiev

First of all, we can watch Joe Louis fights. Ever heard of Youtube?
We can look at his record.
He knocked out guys below 200, above 200, and above 250.
Just because a guy was before your time doesn't mean he wasn't great.

No, I am not. He was high on Anthony Joshua like if Joshua was something never seen before. As someone with his weight, size, strength, reach, conditioning and nutrition would be reigning for years.keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑05 Apr 2025, 07:34Me thinks you and Kalan are the same person.elmersalsa wrote: ↑28 Mar 2025, 14:54 The same thing. And look what happened? He got destroyed by a 6'2", 268lbs heavyweight in Andy Ruiz. Basically, a fat buff!
My question is, where is Kalan now? What does he think of his future hero, Anthony Joshua now?
I know that it takes more than height, reach, weight and nutrition to be great. There's something else called grit, heart and determination. No matter how skilled or talented you are, if you don't got that, then, you are not going to be a great fighter. Ask Big John Tate.

So Joshua got destroyed by a guy 6' 2"? But one of the two best heavyweights ever, who's only half an inch shorter couldn't do the same. Re: Joe Louis vs Anthony Joshua
You have to remember keep 5 things in mind:
1.Joe Louis had "primitive" skills.
2.Since Ruiz, is a grossly overweight modern fight, he is automatically" talented". (as opposed to Carnera, Simon, and Buddy Baer whose careers elmer has studied quite closely.)
3. If you get knocked down several times and stopped by a fat slob weighing 268, it is not as bad as getting knocked down and coming back to win against a fat slob weighing 233.
4. None of the fights that Joe Louis was knocked down should ever be considered.
5. We should always trust elmers imagination. If he can't imagine it, it cannot happen.
Since, Louis got knocked down by Galento, Louis can't possibly be good enough to beat Joshua.
This reasoning is full proof. Louis got knocked down by Galento. Galento fought Max Baer and could not knock Baer down and was defeated. Baer was bigger than Louis. So obviously, Louis would have no chance against Max Baer if they ever fought.....

Andy Ruiz looks like he trains at Taco Bell, but he can still throw fast, hard, accurate punches.

Beterbiev has a higher knockout percentage than Louis and kayoed everyone he fought during his prime not losing until he was past it. He was also kayoed many guys who had never been stopped previously. Potentially he hit harder than Louis.

I don't really rate the heavyweights of Louis era and I think they would lose to the light heavyweights super middleweights of subsequent eraskeithmoonhangover wrote: ↑06 Apr 2025, 13:20Wow, you're really good at reading boxers records. Louis heavyweight opponents probably wouldn't enjoy the success they did in subsequent heavyweight eras and most would be fighting in other divisions.
Id pick Roy Jones over everybody Louis beat
