I've come across an old photo, likely from a newspaper, of a boxer from Canada going by the name of Private Bill Welles. He seems to have been active from 1915 to 1920. Considering the time frame, I'm thinking he was likely competing in army or inter-service bouts while overseas before turning pro. All I have is a photo and a name and a possible time frame. Does anyone have any info on this guy? I've checked several different sources and come up blank.
