Dale Robinson

Post by REEVE »

Just been watching an old ring side from 2001 about Huddersfield commonwealth flyweight champion Dale Robinson.

Just wondered if anyone knows what he's up to these days? Looked a decent fighter :box:

I started to reply to tell you that he posts on here a fair bit and then checked and realised he hasn't been on since 2009. That that isn't a joke is worrying!

He's the sort of lad that will be on Facebook. Search him on there if you don't get a reply here, always seemed a nice approachable type, send him a message and ask how he's doing, seriously.

I was at an after party after Sykes v Johannesson, he turned up on a bike not looking too great to be honest. Hope he's well.

Also hope he's well. He was in some absolutely cracking fights very good value fighter. The lower weights flyweight, bantamweight had some very watchable, exciting characters on the domestic scene decades ago. Martin Power, Booth brothers, Dale Robinson, Johnny Armour, Francis Ampofo, Haskins, Culshaw....

And then that South African dude who came over and beat Power, the Spider. I think Maloney managed him for bit. He was a monster for a bantamweight and looked two or three divisions bigger than Martin. Was very exciting but don't think he fulfilled his potential. I recall him getting bombed out by Quigg early.

The Atomic Spider. What a great name. Beat Martin Power a couple of times (I think) who I thought was heading for a World title shot.

Munyai is still fighting! And recently lost up at Lightweight in Mexico.

As for Dale, he's pretty active on Facebook.
