I feel like Vargas would have a pretty significant strength advantage, but Cotto always showed a better overall skill set. I think Vargas would be too strong for Cotto early on, and would be bulling him around the ring, and landing lots of heavier blows. Cotto's boxing skill, and body punching would take some of the starch out of Vargas as the fight rolled along, and he'd start to slow down.

I think Cotto would gradually begin to take over the fight more and more as it goes, and would likely be able to eke out a close hard fought decision over Vargas by the thinnest of margins. Say 115-113 Cotto on 2 out of 3 cards.
