Hi everyone,
I’ve been reading up on Archie Moore and noticed that many sources list him as having the most knockouts in boxing history (some say 131 KOs, others 132). But when I check BoxRec, the numbers don’t seem to fully match.chiikawa puzzle
I’m a bit confused and was wondering:
What is the most accurate number of KO wins for Archie Moore?
Why do different sources show slightly different totals? Is it because some of his fights weren’t properly recorded at the time, or are they counted differently depending on the source?
I’m really interested in boxing history and would love to hear more details from those who know better.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Question about Archie Moore’s knockout record
I don't know if there is a definitive source for Moore's KO record. I've always heard anywhere from 131 to 141 KO's.
I'm not sure which results are debated there amongst the various sources to be honest. It was Ring Magazine that would list him as having 141 KO's, I don't think I've seen that anywhere else.

Re: Question about Archie Moore’s knockout record
I’ve looked into Archie Moore's knockout record as well, and the discrepancy you’re seeing is pretty common in boxing history. The exact number of KOs for Moore varies because some early fights weren't consistently recorded or properly tracked. BoxRec might list 131, but other sources (like older boxing magazines) sometimes include unrecorded or disputed KOs, which can push the total up to 132. It’s not unusual for older records to have slight variations depending on the documentation.

Re: Question about Archie Moore’s knockout record
One thing we can know for sure about his KO record though is that it is in fact the record for most KO's that any boxer ever recorded.
Whether that number is 131, 132, 141 or anything in between. It would be the World Record amount of KO's regardless.
