Who’s next for Murat Gassiev after beating Jeremiah Milton?

Post by 1287924 »

Murat Gassiev is finally back in action and got the W over Jeremiah Milton in Miami (RTD after 6 rounds). He looked solid, but not spectacular, and now the big question is – what’s next?

Does he go for a name like Dubois, Kabayel, or Sanchez? Maybe a stay-busy fight in Europe? Or should his team push for a title eliminator at this point?

He’s still only 31, but injuries and long layoffs slowed him down. Do you guys think he can break into the top 5 of the heavyweight division, or is he destined to stay in the “fringe contender” zone?

Curious to hear your takes – who would you like to see him fight next?

He needs to beat someone that he's expected to lose against because, currently, he is still ranked lower than Wallin, who is also outside the top 15.

I would love to see him vs Moses. Think he is just the right guy. Lots of good, not much great not much bad. Good size, good power, good durability, not too old.

It’s the absolute upper limit of who I would put Moses in with right now but it would be a superb win (and if you knock him it’s a 1 up on Usyk ((for the hyper causals))

I was heavily rooting for him beforehand. But after lousy showing of his against Wallin, it seems that he has nothing to offer for the HW division other than being a gatekeeper maybe. He still has a potential and not a lost cause yet.
Moses is a good choice for him though, a shortcut to the point. But he's in a high risk-low reward position for Moses concurrently.

I thought he was gunna beat wallin very well, and so yea I too went from high on him to not so much..:

I will say for some reason vs wallin he was 216lb, that seems weird and unessasary. So Mabey he tried somthing and it didn’t work.

His only two losses are moving southpaws one A grade and one C grade… Mabey that’s his weakness I dunno, I don’t wanna completely write him off but I do think it’s more likely seeing him as an opponent than a contender any time soon.
