I was just thinking. With the Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez fight fast approaching. I started racking my brain trying to come up with Lightweight Champions who have also won a Title at Middleweight, and that list is very short indeed.
As far as I know the only one to have been a Lightweight Champion and Middleweight Champion is Roberto Duran.
So if Crawford is able to get by Canelo Alvarez he will be in very, very rare company.
Lightweight Champions who became Middleweight Champions
Re: Lightweight Champions who became Middleweight Champions
Oscar De La Hoya I know picked up a belt at 135, and also got the WBO belt with a "win" over Felix Sturm.
So he technically did, just not the least bit impressively...at least with the Middleweight portion of it.

Roberto Duran is the only lightweight champion to become middleweight champion. That alone is one of the greatest feats in boxing history.

- Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Canelo is the 168 lb champ in what would've been the 185+lb Hvy Champ in Marv's day, Canelo's approximate ring weight.
Don't think much of this Craw fight that seems to have been a creation solely of Turki and his Billion$. At least Craw will go down fighting. Upset chances barring unknown injuries are slim and none.
