Also, a shark getting eaten by a Lion (EJ IG says 154 shark).

So, seems to be true, but they are both out of the ring over two years and looked both retired. I don't have much trust, that's gonna be a good fight.

Errol Spence could be set for a big fight in his long-awaited return to the ring.

Former unified welterweight champion Spence hasn’t fought since his undisputed showdown with Terence Crawford back in July 2023.

It was viewed as a 50-50 clash heading into the bout, but it certainly didn’t transpire that way, as Crawford dominated the action, dropping his rival several times on his way to a ninth round stoppage victory to add Spence’s WBC, WBA and IBF titles to his WBO belt.

Over two years on, ‘The Truth’ hasn’t competed since, with various factors including an eye injury keeping him out of action, but he has now been linked to a clash against a former undisputed champion who has also been inactive as of late.

Jermell Charlo became undisputed champion at 154lbs back in May 2022, and then moved up to super-middleweight to challenge Canelo Alvarez in September 2023, but suffered a one-sided unanimous decision defeat.

Charlo hasn’t fought since that bout, but has now teased a clash against Spence on social media, posting an image of a lion biting a shark, referencing the nicknames given to both men. Fans were quick to jump on the idea of that clash, which would do impressive numbers regardless of the inactivity. In a seperate post, Charlo that a fight date is ‘coming.’

It isn’t the only fight that Charlo has been linked to, after it was reported that he will be mandated to face Abass Baraou in the near future.

Baraou became interim WBA super-welterweight champion earlier this month with a victory over Yoenis Tellez, but is set to be elevated to full status in September when current WBA titleholder Crawford loses his recognition as champion when he faces Canelo at the Allegiant Stadium.

Errol Spence Jr could be set for his long-awaited return to the ring after being called out for a showdown with Jermell Charlo.

The 35-year-old from Long Island, New York has not fought since he suffered the first defeat of his career to fellow countryman Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford back in July of 2023, falling short in his attempt at becoming the undisputed welterweight champion.

Rumours about Spence’s return to the ring have began to circulate in recent weeks however, with former undisputed super-welterweight champion and former gym partner Charlo teasing a potential match-up next.

Charlo has also been out of the ring since 2023 after he was beaten by Mexican superstar and reigning undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, suffering just the second defeat of his career in the process.

Speaking on social media, Jacob Spence, cousin of Errol, sent a clear message out to Charlo as rumours of their potential clash begin to intensify, warning they could ‘do him worse than Canelo’.

“We could do him worse than Canelo did.”

Spence is expected to make the move up to super-welterweight ahead of his long-awaited comeback to the sport, which is said to have been scheduled to take place at the beginning of the year but these plans fell through.

The 35-year-old was reportedly in negotiations to face reigning WBC super-welterweight champion and fellow countryman Sebastian Fundora, but the duo failed to come to a suitable agreement for a showdown.

Errol Spence Finally In Talks For Comeback Fight Against Former World Champion After 2 Years Out

Errol Spence appears to finally be on the verge of making his return to the ring.

Spence was once a long-time unified welterweight champion, defeating fighters such as Shawn Porter, Yordenis Ugas and Kell Brook to capture the IBF, WBC and WBA titles at 147lbs.

He then headed into an undisputed showdown with WBO champion Terence Crawford in July 2023, but it was ‘Bud’ who claimed the victory, stopping his rival in the ninth round to hand ‘The Truth’ the first defeat of his professional career.

Spence is yet to return since that bout, but has been linked to a number of different opponents in the two-plus years since he was last in action, and it seems like one fighter in particular is now in the driving seat to be stood in the opposite corner of the ring.

The man in question is Jermell Charlo, the former undisputed super-welterweight champion who held all four world titles at 154lbs after knocking out Brian Castano in the 10th round of their contest back in May 2022.

He then moved up two weight divisions to take on undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in September 2023, but was on the wrong end of a unanimous decision defeat.

Just like Spence, Charlo has suffered from inactivity, having not competed since that Canelo loss nearly two years ago, but according to Mike Coppinger, Spence and Charlo are now in talks for a showdown in early 2026.

Team Spence has previously commented on a potential clash against Charlo, letting their thoughts be known with a clear five-word message.

Jermell Charlo and Errol Spence Jr. are in discussions for a 154-pound fight that would take place next year, The Ring's Mike Coppinger reported on the new weekly "Inside the Ring" show.

A deal isn't imminent but the sides are inching closer, Coppinger reported.

Charlo (35-2-1, 19 KOs) and Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) are pals. They sparred numerous rounds in the past and worked side by side on countless occasions under the watchful eye of trainer Derrick James.

And both went on to win multiple titles, with Spence collecting three of the four major belts at 147 pounds and Charlo becoming undisputed champion at 154.

However, neither currently holds a belt and both are coming off lopsided defeats and long layoffs. Charlo was outclassed by Canelo Alvarez in September 2023 in a failed attempt to become a two-division undisputed champion. Spence was brutally stopped by Terence Crawford in a title-unification bout in July 2023.

Neither man has fought since.

And both have remained mostly quiet, dropping only snippets of training videos on social media. Neither fighter is being trained by James, as the renowned coach parted ways with them for various reasons.

the build up to Canelo vs Crawford has got me thinking "where is Errol Spence". A real good fighter back in the day, strange display against Crawford. Yes it might have been about levels, but other fighters who you would tip Spence to beat have given better shows vs Crawford.
