Terence Crawford vs Joe Calzaghe

Post by 2128778 »

42-0, 31 KO vs 46-0, 32 KO.

I believe, this one was coming sooner or later)

How do you see Crawford stylistically matching up with Calzaghe?

Badly. He'd lose 10 rounds to 2 against Calzaghe. Outmuscled. Outsped. Beaten in every way. Beaten to the punch in 8 out of 10 exchanges. Over and over. All fight long.

Crawford would have success in spots with his timing, but I don't think he'd ever be able to do enough damage to stop Calzaghe from outpunching him, and outlanding him by a significant margin.

I think Gilgamesh is being slightly generous to Joe, don't think it would be that wide.
However, he is right in that Joe would seriously outwork Bud.
I think the earlier iteration of Joe could possibly stop him, the later version would settle for a comfortable points victory.

I could also be being slightly generous to Crawford by saying he'd win 2 rounds. Maybe he wouldn't win a goddamn thing. He's a good enough fighter that I suspect he'd probably find some kinda bit of success in the fight, but I don't think it'd be enough.

Crawford would be too skillful and slick for Joe.

The way to beag calazaghe is doing what hopkins did. Bernard was just too tired to grind out the win

Crawford doesnt fight like that at all

Crawford fought one fight at 168 against canelo who is clearly on the downside and has no jab. Think everyone is a little excited

Calzaghe is an entirely different matchup from Canelo.

Canelo as he is now throws mostly 1 punch at a time.

You couldn't get Calzaghe to throw 1 punch at a time if you shot him with a Tranquilizer Dart
