Had De La Hoya granted Sturm an immediate rematch under public pressure, how do you expect it to go?
Fight takes place in September of 2004, once again at the MGM Grand, instead of De La Hoya - Hopkins.

De La Hoya, legitimate decision this time. Strum was not a complicated fighter and Oscar would be in shape and outpoint him handily, IMO.

First off the only reason why the decision was controversial to begin with was to save the Superfight he had planned with Hopkins. So if he had decided to go straight into a rematch with Sturm instead, Hopkins' head would've exploded 
But to answer the question. I doubt De La Hoya would ever do much better than a draw or a narrow decision that would go either way against Sturm.
