Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Simple enough question.
Both possible victims of a "dodgy" stoppage. Both well on top at the time of the stoppage. Huni's definitely less dodgy than Parker, but was also probably more on top and, unlike in the Parker fight, this was the first time he was hurt.
I actually would vote for Huni being more worthy of a rematch because of the more one sided nature of their actual fight.
But on a side - surely Huni vs Parker is a natural fight now.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
If the Usyk fight can't be made, and AJ and Fury are unavailable, Wardley v Parker may well be the best money maker out there for them

While Huni v Parker will be a big fight down under, Parker can earn much more elsewherestujones wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025, 08:17 Simple enough question.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
If the Usyk fight couldn't be made - then I suspect we might see Wardley vs Chisora for some kind of vacant belt. That is actually a fight that I would give Derek half a chance against and it would mean he would end his career with the world title shot he is mentioning.
If Usyk cannot fight Wardley next then surely he will get stripped. Isn't Wardley now #1 with both WBO and WBA? (or whatever belt he was some kind of interim winner before the Parker fight).
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Who knows with the WBA. My understanding is Regular belt holder (Pulev) is mandatory to Super belt holder (Usyk). I think Wardley was interim champion to Pulev. As why would Wardley v Huni be a final eliminator to Usyk.stujones wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025, 09:29If the Usyk fight couldn't be made - then I suspect we might see Wardley vs Chisora for some kind of vacant belt. But anyway, that was before. I think Wardley is just WBO interim and so next mandatory for Usyk.
I suppose Usyk might not want to bother with a fight that doesn't bring a load of dosh (or alternatively enhance his legacy). So he might drop the belt and go after Kabayel through the WBC. Then circle back for the WBO later

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Definitely Parker of the two options, but frankly not interested in either rematch.
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Agreed. He's got the shot with Usyk. Let's see that. The rematches will be there afterward, win or lose.
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Great topic! Parker I reckon.
Wont Wazza's hope be that WBO is relinquished by Usyk and Wardlwy defends it against a procession of Queensberry fighters?

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
I honestly don't see why anyone would turn down a crack at Usyk if they get it. Even if you can't beat him, he's not the kinda guy that's going to give you a merciless career ending beatdown. He's gonna outbox you.
Plus he's on the smaller side for modern Heavyweights. He's nearing 40. There's any number of reasons why you'd want to take your shot at him if you can get it.
Wardley has size and strength on him for sure. He almost certainly has the power advantage as well, and he's younger.
He has a lot of things in his favor that could help him overcome a better fighter.
I wonder how many more times Wardley will continue to be an underdog that isn't ready if he pulls it off against Usyk

Because of the position he was in..
Parker.
Huni was done over to.
That was Latham wasn’t it?

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Obviously Parker.
Huni was flattened, looked visibly stricken and it seemed a fair stoppage to me. Doesn't matter if Wardley was a mile behind on the cards, Huni wasn't giving off the right signals from his facial expression or body language.
Parker, on the other hand, hadn't gone down but was on the receiving end. Joseph was in survival mode but also looking to fight back when possible.
Two completely different outcomes for my money.

Ref botched the count.
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Parker threw 3 punches in the last 40 seconds of the fight and none landed, he was against the ropes and not firing back, Wardley was landing, not every punch but enough so Foster stepped in.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Parker definitely landed some shots.
He was definitely looking more fresh at the time it stopped. Wardley didn’t fall on the floor for dramatic effect. He was knackered!

It's not the count that's the issue in the Huni bout, it's the body language. Huni looked a beaten man with slow responses.
Parker was still up for the fight, albeit under heavy fire.

Parker
He was robbed of his world title. Foster saw if it went to the cards, Wardley was gonna lose so he was looking for any chance to step in and get the British fighter the world title.
I can't wait for Fraudley to get sparked out and sent back to Bum Land where he belongs.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
I think on the official cards Wardley was caught up wasn't he? I personally had him down 7 rounds to 3 heading into the 11th, but i don't think the official judges did.
He definitely was going to win the 11th round too that's for sure.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Parker was up 4 rounds, 2 rounds and one even. Before the 11th.
Fabio won the 11th no doubt. Then it came down to the last round. We don’t know how much either had left. Fabio was wasted.
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Parker deserves it , But Parker will not get it , will be Usyk and if he says no Fab elevated to WC and a pick an easy fight for a first defence , then another one until the big guns come out with there big money for a fight with Usyk , Frank will want to let it all marinate and keep Wardley away from anyone dangerous UNTIL he feels Moses is ready to take the reins .
Franks spent years jostling to be in the position he's in now , and no one is gonna take that away from him , I just hope Usyk comes along and spoils the party , and takes the fight , although has i've said before , Wardley is not to be too heavily discounted , he's big strong , can punch and still a lot fresher than most , plus he's learning , you just got to admire the guy

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
You can only guess at that, I can't see how Parker was looking more fresh when it was stopped, he was clearly hurt after that big right at 1.45 of the round and then did nothing afterwards.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 Oct 2025, 19:50 Parker definitely landed some shots.

Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
Nothing landed clean in that final 3 shot sequence
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
People keep on saying this but Foster's brain was already in 'stop it' mode based on the 20 odd shots that had gone before that.
I also keep on seeing people say "why wasn't Tyson Fury stopped against Usyk, then?" and the answer to that is, he probably should've been, and had that been anywhere else other than Saudi where the ref was probably worried about being imprisoned and tortured is he's made the wrong call, I think it would have been.
Still, Tyson went on to finish strong so it was the right call, I suppose? I just think this stoppage wasn't great, but it was OK.
The answer to the thread question though is Parker, obviously.
Re: Who is more worthy of a rematch.
If Usyk vacates and Fabio is upgraded to full champion I can't see a fight that sells much better than the rematch, given the controversy and how good this one was. Run it back.coneye wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025, 03:07 Parker deserves it , But Parker will not get it , will be Usyk and if he says no Fab elevated to WC and a pick an easy fight for a first defence , then another one until the big guns come out with there big money for a fight with Usyk , Frank will want to let it all marinate and keep Wardley away from anyone dangerous UNTIL he feels Moses is ready to take the reins .

Thing is.. strangely, had he stopped it 10 seconds earlier.. I would have had no issue. It's when he stopped it.Cyclops wrote: ↑29 Oct 2025, 03:58People keep on saying this but Foster's brain was already in 'stop it' mode based on the 20 odd shots that had gone before that.
