15 rounds at heavyweight.
Toney failed two drug tests at heavy, so bear that in mind.

Re: Joe Louis vs James Toney
This is actually a very interesting bout.
I can see Toney giving Louis some legit problems early on but probably Louis would make the necessary adjustments.
I'm going to go with Louis winning on a 10th round Tko by way of corner stoppage after 10 grueling rounds.
Toney would want to come out for the 11th round but his corner would tell the ref "We're done".

Re: Joe Louis vs James Toney
I'd favor Louis to win a late TKO in a 15 rounder. Toney was always on the pudgy side for a Heavyweight, and I don't think anybody ever made him keep the pace that he would've had to keep against Joe Louis.
Toney is tough, and full of veteran tricks enough to get through many rounds, but ultimately he's gonna be worn down, and if the referee or his corner don't step in to stop it Louis will stop it for 'em.
Toney was the WBA Heavyweight Champion though. Revisionist History be damned.

Re: Joe Louis vs James Toney
Joe Louis by decision. He is not stopping a clever fighter like James "Lights Out" Toney. Toney would have looked too fat to fight Louis. He would gassed out.
