‘The king must return’: Tyson Fury hints at 2026 comeback

Tyson Fury appears to be once again ending his retirement.

Despite all of the talk about his latest retirement would be the one that sticks, even if he were offered a billion dollars, Tyson Fury has seemingly reversed course (in very Tyson Fury fashion), hinting at his return to boxing in the coming year. Many folks never believed Fury’s retirement would last very long, and their beliefs appear to have been vindicated by Fury’s latest post on his social media page.

“The king must return to his throne,” Fury posted in a caption under a rendition of him in Crusader form. “There is a long & lonely road that only I can walk on, but after the long & hard battles awaits immortality! Gods fighting 1man army the battle was won over 2k years ago by a man who goes by the name of Yesuar, in his holy name I march forward, 2026.”



The 37-year-old Fury is most recently coming off consecutive decision losses to Oleksandr Usyk in fights where he’s been critical of the scores, even if most believe he justifiably lost those bouts. A long-awaited fight against Anthony Joshua has been rumored for a while now and with Joshua set for an easy tune-up against Jake Paul, he should be fully fit and ready to take on Fury should that formally come together, which seems to be the mostly likely thing to happen at this point.

I think the only way he stays retired is if he is really humbled by someone.

We all know he comfortably lost to Usyk, but he is able to make an argument that he was robbed that the casuals will lap up.

It only stops when he can no longer make money by selling to them. Needs a stinker like Ricky/Naz experienced.

To be fair to him, he did well against Usyk in both fights, especially the early part of fight 1, but as usual, Usyk cranked up the pressure, and he was found out. You can't showboat, or take your foot off the gas with Usyk, he just keeps on coming. He's one of the best educated pressure fighters I've ever seen, and very hard to nail clean, certainly with more than one shot.

Fury should just stay retired, I suspect he finds it difficult to live without the adulation the crowd brings, he certainly doesn't need the money.

By that time, both had taken losses, hard losses too, and far removed from being world champions or even contenders in their weights.

Good thing with HW’s is, Fury and Joshua can still get in the mix if they wanted.

He is very happy but has watched the fight of Usyk beating him and convinced himself he won and that everybody else thinks he won too. Obviously very contented. Hope he hints at another comeback soon, time drags between him regurgitating the same old shite.

The 1st was quite close, though I thought it pretty obvious who won, I scored it on the night, there were definitely quite a few close rounds, but there were obviously some that Usyk won clearly.

I think people were swayed with the fact that it was a no nonsense Fury, and he was more serious., and did seem to box better.. But even with that, Usyk, also improved in the rematch.. Just shows how GOAT Usyk is.
