5 years without Marvelous

Post by Jaywheel »

Today marks the 5th anniversary of Hagler's passing. To me, he was the poster boy for what coming up fighters should look up to. Dedicated, disciplined, serious, relentless. Iron jawed to top it off. The real deal.

He's up there enjoying the fruits of his labour, probably lounging around in silk pyjamas and sticking pins into a SRL voodoo doll.

Respect to the man, if anyone earned it in the modern era, he did.

Marvelous supposed to be the most conditioned boxer of The Four Kings. Unfortunately, he died first. I still can't believe that it happened to him.

Definitely a True Professional in every sense of the word. He was everything you want a Great Champion to be.

Absolute icon. Did it the hard way, as long as there is boxing he'll never be forgotten.

The earliest one I could find was his 1974 bout with Tracy Morrison.
