Shane Mosley Jnr vs. Serhii Bohachuk headlines Zuffa Boxing 06 on May 10

The main card for the next Zuffa Boxing show has been set.

Zuffa Boxing 06, which will take place May 10 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, will be headlined by a 10-round middleweight bout between Shane Mosley Jnr and Serhii Bohachuk. The show will stream on Paramount+.

Mosley, 22-5 (12 KOs), is the namesake son of the Hall of Fame former three-division champion. The 35-year-old Californian is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jesus Ramos Jnr this past December in a bout for the interim WBC middleweight title.

Bohachuk, 27-3 (24 KOs), is a 30-year-old Ukrainian living in California. He lost his interim WBC 154lbs belt in a close battle with Vergil Ortiz Jnr in 2024, then won two straight before a disappointing rematch loss to Brandon Adams last September. Bohachuk rebounded two months ago on Zuffa Boxing 02, taking a split decision over Radzhab Butaev.

Also on this show, Julian Rodriguez will take on James Perella in a 10-round welterweight bout, and Misael Rodriguez will face Andreas Katzourakis in a 10-round middleweight bout.

Rodriguez, 25-1 (15 KOs), is a 31-year-old from New Jersey. He outpointed Cain Sandoval in January on Zuffa Boxing 01, which was Rodriguez’s fourth straight victory since an eighth-round TKO loss to Jose Pedraza in 2021.

Perella, 21-0 (15 KOs), is a 33-year-old from Massachusetts. His entire career has been fought in New England. Most recently, Perella scored a first-round KO of the 24-15-1 Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco in December.

Rodriguez, 16-0 (8 KOs), is a 31-year-old from Mexico living in California. He also fought on Zuffa Boxing 01 in January, putting away the 17-0 Austin Deanda after four rounds.

Katzourakis, 16-0 (11 KOs) is a 28-year-old from Greece living in Texas. In his two most recent bouts, Katzourakis received a split decision nod over Brandon Adams in November 2024 and then won a seventh-round stoppage against the 11-0 Roberto Cruz Jnr last May.

MOSLEY JR. VS. BOHACHUK TO HEADLINE ZUFFA BOXING 06

Shane Mosley Jr. vs. Serhii Bohachuk will headline Zuffa Boxing 06 on May 10 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, streaming on Paramount+.

The fight was announced during the prelims of Zuffa Boxing 05 on Sunday, which is headlined by Andres Cortes vs. Eridson Garcia on Paramount+.

For Mosley (22-5, 12 KOs), it’ll be his first fight under the Zuffa Boxing banner. He last fought on Dec. 6, delivering a spirited effort in a unanimous-decision defeat to Jesus Ramos (24-1, 19 KOs) in a 12-round middleweight bout. Ramos is The Ring’s No. 9 middleweight.

Mosley, son of Hall of Famer Shane Mosley, had won five straight fights before facing Ramos, including a unanimous decision over former middleweight world champion Daniel Jacobs in July 2024.

Bohachuk (27-3, 24 KOs) will be in his second fight with Zuffa Boxing. The Ukrainian last fought on Feb. 1, defeating Radzhab Butaev by split decision in a back-and-forth 10-round middleweight fight.
Before beating Butaev, Bohachuk was 2-2 in his previous four fights, losing a razor-thin majority decision to Vergil Ortiz in 2024 and Brandon Adams for a second time in 2025. Ortiz (24-0, 22 KOs) is The Ring’s No. 1 junior middleweight, while Adams (24-4, 16 KOs) is No. 8.

Also on Zuffa O6, Julian Rodriguez will take on James Perella, and Misael Rodriguez will face Andreas Katzdurakis.

A couple of interesting MW bouts on this card. Mosley Jr. vs. Bohachuk is a crossroads fight for both boxers, neither of whom can afford a loss and stay relevant in the division, while Rodriguez vs. Katzourakis features two boxers who have a lot of upside potential but don't fight enough.

Absolutely like every single fight on this card. Really unpredictable. Even debuting guy who is succesful amateur is fighting guy with only one loss. Zuffa boxing giving us very solid boxing, despite not having big names.

They have tough 50/50 or at worst 70/30 type matchmaking for sure. The underdogs are never hopeless in a Zuffa fight. At least not yet.

Yeah man. It is literally only promotion, where i can watch every fight on the card. Every other promoter giving us at least half of card where are some undefeated prime prospects who are protected and are fighting low quality/out of shape/old/overweight guys with something like 3-19-2 record. Sick of that trash

Shane Mosley Jnr welcomes main stage and Zuffa’s faith putting him there

For Shane Mosley Jnr, the main event he’ll forever remember is his Hall of Fame father’s 2000 dual homecoming showdown versus Oscar De La Hoya at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Muhammad Ali was there among the sellout crowd. The action from the opening to closing bell was gripping. Mosley Snr won the fight.

“That fight changed my life,” Mosley Jnr, now 35, told Boxing Scene. “After that fight, everyone knew who ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley was. It made him a superstar. Yes, he was already unbeaten with a lot of knockouts, but none of that mattered because he hadn’t beat ‘The Golden Boy.’

“When he beat ‘The Golden Boy’ convincingly, it made him a superstar and that changed my life. … We moved to a different area and all that.”

Sunday night, atop a Zuffa Boxing card in Las Vegas on Paramount+, Mosley Jnr gets his own major main event, a middleweight showdown against former WBC interim 154lbs titleholder Serhii Bohachuk that will strongly position the winner for a Zuffa belt and a likely run of significant bouts in a glamour division of the new promotion.

“Isn’t it amazing? I haven’t had a main event since [meeting Brandon Adams on ‘The Contender’ in 2018] and I’m so excited,” Mosley Jnr said. “I fought for a world title last time. For [Zuffa] to say, ‘We believe in you, we believe you’re a main event with us,’ I’m so excited, and so thankful for Zuffa and Bohachuk. What an incredible opportunity.”

Mosley, 22-5 (12 KOs), is coming off a December unanimous decision loss (117-111, 116-112, 117-111) for the WBC interim middleweight title to Jesus Ramos Jnr.

“I feel like I needed to box him more. I let him get me into a brawl. If I had stayed boxing him, I feel I would have won,” Mosley said. “I was very close to winning a world championship myself. Just a few tweaks, a few little changes and I could’ve beat Jesus Ramos. Every fight is a lesson. If you change a few things, you get better. That’s what I feel I’m going to do.”

A few months ago, Mosley took the opportunity to meet Zuffa brass and attend one of its cards at the Meta Apex, where he will fight Ukraine’s Bohachuk, 27-3 (24 KOs), Sunday night.

“You look at the body of work. Look at the people [Nick Khan, Dana White] involved and what they do,” Mosley said. “They’ve created the UFC, the WWE, they’re on Paramount.

“Why not be a part of that? I’ve been a part of the old way of boxing for a very long time. Why not give this a try? Why not see what they can do? Because I’ve seen what they’ve done with other things. You can nitpick all you want about these other things, but they’re being seen, and I wanted to be part of that. The fact that they see the potential in me to be a star, where a lot of other promotions [have not]. … Like I said, I’ve been with Golden Boy ever since I got off ‘The Contender,’ and they never felt I was worth being a main event.

“In my first fight with [Zuffa], they do.”

That said, Mosley takes pride in knowing he didn’t take a silver-spoon approach to this destination, defeating the likes of former middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs and veteran contender Gabriel Rosado while enduring losses to others, including Jason Quigley.

“You need to go through taking the bumps and bruises and having those experiences that helped me make informed decisions,” Mosley said.

Part of the experience was the angst of three breaks of more than 10 months.

“I do feel [Zuffa] will keep me more [active], with fight cards on a regular [schedule],” Mosley said. “I’ve had stints when I wasn’t fighting for [many] months … that’s hard. I would prefer the consistency.”

Having reviewed the recent work of Bohachuk, who lost his WBC 154lbs belt to unbeaten Vergil Ortiz Jnr and was upset by Adams in September before winning his Zuffa debut on February 1, Mosley said he can win by leaning into “My focus, my sharpness and ability to keep my balance.

“I need to be the very best Shane Mosley I can be, and I feel that guy beats Serhii Bohachuk. I feel Serhii Bohachuk is a freight train. If you let him get going, he’s going to run you over. The guys who have beat him haven’t allowed that. If I just stay on my game plan and stay at my best, that beats him. If I win, I feel I’ll be in position for our title.”

Being able to consult with a legend of this generation along with decorated trainer-grandfather Jack Mosley is invaluable.

“I talk to them a lot. I always have them with me and I love hearing from them as my father and grandfather … about fighting, and to hear their spirit and love,” Mosley Jnr said. “I have so much boxing knowledge in my head and so many great experiences. I’ve had a lot and I think it’s going to help me.”

He said entering the sport and choosing Zuffa were his decisions alone.

“I felt this was a good thing for me,” he said.

It was similar to when he opted on his own to box, years after the Mosley-De La Hoya I bout.

“I got punched in the mouth,” Mosley Jnr said, “and loved it.”

Brandon Glanton wants to have a word with you.

For at least the first 4 main events, there wasn't much doubt about who would win. The a side was always a heavy favorite, and the undercard was full of lopsided odds as well.

It probably just depends on who the promotion cares about. It’s the same with the UFC, you can tell who they like and who they don’t really care for.

At last Zuffa card, out of 7 fights, there were 3 betting upsets:
Andres Cortes +166 underdog W UD against Eridson Garcia
Alexis de la Cerda + 175 underdog W KO against Ervin Fuller
Tony Hirsch + 1000 underdog W MD against Robert Merriweather

Unless Bohachuk is well and truely shot he could win a decision.

I agree with your thoughts on Bohachuk. I could even see him with a late stoppage; however, if he is shot, Mosley Jr. may very well claim a solid decision.

I am really intrigued by Rodriguez and Katzourakis, both of whom are undefeated but don't fight often enough. It's difficult to gauge just where their careers are headed. Rodriguez is a 2016 Olympic medalist who hasn't done much in the pro ranks, while Katzourakis kind of stalled out after edging Adams in the finals of the DAZN-OTX tournament at SWW in 2024.

As pro's I haven't seen either of those two yet, but I will.
Middleweight is currently a division to be taken, there's all number of reasons the belt holders or contenders can be beat if you have the right fighter.

MOSLEY JR. PLANS TO CONFRONT 'BULLY' SERHI BOHACHUK IN FIRST HEADLINER

It has been a long and winding road for Shane Mosley Jr. to arrive at the opportunity he has Sunday.

He’ll face Serhii Bohachuk in a 10-round middleweight bout at Meta Apex Center in Las Vegas on Paramount+. The fact he's headlining his first fight with Zuffa Boxing makes Mosley believe his work inside the squared circle is starting to pay off.

“It represents a lot for me,” Mosley told The Ring.

“It's my first main event. I've been in the game for a very long time, and finally got a main event fight. I’m fighting a really tough opponent. It means the world to me. It shows me that people see me and my hard work.”

The opportunity to stay active played a key role in Mosley (22-5, 12 KOs) signing with Zuffa Boxing, having only boxed nine times in the last seven years.
Mosley, who is the son of International Boxing Hall of Famer Shane Mosley, turned a corner beginning in 2021, winning five straight fights, including victories over Gabriel Rosado and former middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs. Then, in his most recent bout, he lost to Jesus Ramos (24-1, 19 KOs) by unanimous decision for the then-vacant interim WBC middleweight title on Dec. 6 in his last fight.

Mosley, 35, gave a good account of himself against The Ring’s No. 8-ranked middleweight, although he felt he could have been more consistent with his boxing rather than being dragged into the kind of fight Ramos preferred.

“I thought it was a decent performance,” Mosley said. “I felt like I could have done better in areas and made it a better fight. I feel like if I changed a few things, I could have won.”

Now, Mosley has his sights set on starting a new win streak against Bohachuk (27-3, 24 KOs).

The Ukrainian pressure fighter has fought once under the Zuffa banner, winning a razor-thin split decision against Radzhab Butaev on Feb. 1. Bohachuk also gave Vergil Ortiz (24-0, 22 KOs), The Ring’s No. 1-ranked junior middleweight, the toughest fight in his career, dropping him twice before losing a narrow majority decision in 2024.

Despite fighting from different stances, Bohachuk, 31, and Ramos share similarities in how they rely on pressure and volume, which Mosley believes will help him. Ultimately, if Mosley is going to earn the biggest win of his career, he’ll have to meet Bohachuk head-on.

“You confront it,” Mosley said. “The come-forward style is a bully style, and I don't like bullies. Bullies don’t like being confronted.”
