I'm giving the edge to Bugner here. If Jesse Ferguson can outbox you, Bugner can, and Mercer ain't knocking Bugner out I don't think. Wouldn't be impossible, but I don't think so Joe was a pretty durable guy, and it took some doing to get him outta there.

Might be a close decision, might be a wide decision, but I think Bugner gets his hand raised.

This is a very good and interesting matchup. A very underrated match to me. I would pick Joe Bugner by decision. The guy could box. Ray Mercer could fight his ass off and take a lot of punishment. But, I don't think that he would hurt Bugner. Bugner would have been champion today.
