IBF orders Omar Trinidad-Luis Reynaldo Nunez for 126lbs mandatory
The IBF is ordering Omar Trinidad and Luis Reynaldo Nunez to fight for mandatory contender position in the featherweight division.
IBF champion Angelo Leo, 26-1 (12 KOs), saw his title bout versus Ra’eese Aleem scrapped in May when Aleem missed weight, meaning Leo has now been on the shelf since May 24, 2025.
Zuffa Boxing’s No. 2-rated contender Trinidad, 21-0-2 (14 KOs), called out Leo following his Sunday night unanimous-decision victory over former super-flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas in Las Vegas.
Nunez, 24-0 (16 KOs), the No. 3-rated contender, has stopped or knocked out three of his past four opponents, including a May 23 fourth-round TKO of Carlos Roberto Perez in La Paz, Mexico.
