Joshua Fury start time

Post by Pender »

Just wondering why that little weasel turki is wanting to please the Americas with a 2am start time when both fighters aren't that big over there and it should be for the British public.
Don't see Americas changing there start times at 4am to suit us do you?

The math is quite simple.

He wants it primetime in US.

Netflix has 67-80 million subs in the US.

They have around 18 million in the UK.

Fact is, UK fans have been staying up at daft o’clock to watch big fights for decades.

US-CAN total subscribers is around 90 million.

Will be primetime USA, regardless of where it’s held.

And what percentage of those 90 million will both to watch? England has 20 million and you'd expect as many of them to watch it. The US can watch later in the day, because it doesn't need to be live.

If the ring walk is 4am, they'll only sell half the tickets, so if they give the other 40,000 tickets away to taxi drivers and then everyone will be able to get a cab home.

If the ring walk is 4am, feasibly the whole thing won’t be over until 5 or 5.30am. Don’t the tubes start running then?

If it starts past 11pm I’ve got no chance, 4am might suit me though as I wake early. The joys of mid-life….

Both fighters are big in the states, but the start time shouldn't be to accommodate an American audience, if they're fighting in the UK.

Told him few times lad. He does what he wants to do. He’s the money man and they all follow the money.

I think it’s about time you blame the people taking his money, rather than the man himself. :TU:

There was only 33 million GLOBAL viewers of Joshua Vs Paul. A significantly higher proportion of the 18m UK subs will watch this than the 80m US subs. That number drops significantly if they have already seen the result when they wake up in the morning. The US don't have the same problem as they won't necessarily see the news and also won't have to wait until the next day to watch the fight on Netflix.
