Jai Opetaia* legacy

Post by Grant »

I know we all have our top ten lurking in our heads somewhere. Has Jai done enough to be included? I think has done enough to get in but needs a big scalp to get into the mix for top 5. what do others think.

Yes, Benavidez would kick the sh*t out of him.

What evidence do you have of that? :maybe: Jai has beaten every fighter game enough to fight him.

I don't have any evidence of it yet. I'll have plenty of it when they fight and it happens.

Good reply. Are you interested in giving me a summary of why you seem sure of Benividez. Not looking for an argument but I intend to put money on Opetia so want to think over all the angles. I think anyone could win this fight but I think it's more likely to be Opetia.

Better jab
Better hand speed
Better combination punching

Opetaia may have a slight advantage in strength and power, but it's not a big one. Neither man is chinny that we've seen.

Yeah better jab and better hand speed and the combinations, probably. I think to throw an eight punch combination you need the other guy to stand where you want him and not time nasty shots between your punches. Jai isn't going to be as obliging and predictable and slow as Zurdo. Almost guarantee you won't see too many flashy combinations against Jai.

I remember the Morell fight were he got dropped but won the fight on points. Just my opinion but no way does Morell last the distance against Jai. Since that fight Morell got a dubious win against Khataev and got beaten by an average pom.

I think this fight will have a few possible outcomes. I think if Jai gets buzzed Benividez will be hard to survive against. I think a ko to Jai in the latter rounds is likely. He's an inch and a half taller, has an inch and a half reach advantage and punches harder.

The good thing is most punters believe Benividez wins and America has more punters than Australia so I will get juicy odds on Jai. Especially after Benividez belts up the WBC email champion who is absolutely nothing special. He will do some really flashy combinations in that fight.
