some questions about ray's record; was his 13th rd ko of lamotta his win of the "world middleweight title" ? If so why doesn't his win over Robert Villemain for the "Vacant Pennsylvania State World Middleweight Title" count? it was before the lamotta title fight.

I'm having the same problem researching james toney's world titles.

Tommy Bell Vacant NYSAC Welterweight Title
National Boxing Association World Welterweight Title
World Welterweight Title 15

Jimmy Doyle World Welterweight Title 9
Chuck Taylor World Welterweight Title 6
Bernard Docusen World Welterweight Title 15
Kid Gavilan World Welterweight Title 15
Charley Fusari World Welterweight Title 15

Robert Villemain Vacant Pennsylvania State World Middleweight Title 15
Jose Basora Pennsylvania State World Middleweight Title 1
Carl 'Bobo' Olson Pennsylvania State World Middleweight Title 12

I think that Pennsylvania had broken away from the rest of the boxing world, and had their own world champion for some reason or another. It was kind of like being the WBA champion when most people recognized someone else as being world champion in that weight class. Kind of like Fullmer being NBA champ in 1960 when Paul Pender was considered World Middleweight Champion, or Rodrigo Valdez being WBC Middleweight Champion when Monzon was world champ. Jake Lamotta was still considered World Middleweight Champion by most people until he fought Robinson in 1951.

Tommy Bell fought Robinson for the Welterweight Title vacated by Marty Servo in 1945. Robinson and Bell were the 2 top ranked contenders in the Welterweight Division.

I have a short clip of Robinson - Graziano. They're in a clinch and go to break (99 out of 100 both fighters step back to gather themselves before going at it again) when Robinson suddenly hammers Graziano and KO's him. Graziano's mouthguard goes flying out of his mouth and he doesn't know whether he's Arthur or Marthar :D

Can upload if anyone is interested
