ITV are seem to be taking this foray into Boxing seriously. They hyped the fight up a lot during the Chelsea - Liverpool game and if the programme is 1 hour and 15 mins during prime time it sure sounds good

Any other bouts on the card?
I really don't want to watch an hour of Rose the Nose smarming his way through an hour of simplistic and toadying interviews. I cannot stand the man.

First prime-time ITV boxing for a long time isn't it? Bit of trivia – anyone know the last bout that was on ITV at such a time? I can't!

I thought that. Neary - Scheapers was on live, and before that it had been a two-year gap for ITV since Calzaghe sparked Warren Stowe in 1996. Not sure if there were any Neary fights after that - was it not the Ward fight that finished ITV's coverage?

John had a few shows on ITV in 1998(?). Neary v Holligan was the best. BTW, the Ward fight was on SKY.

Any of you budding boxing writers who want a decent story should try and get hold of Warren. Get him to tell you about the night he fought Simon Maseko in Cape Town. He ended up under the ring - when bullets started flying!

ITV were showing Colin Dunne, Peter Culshaw and Shea Neary fights. I'm not sure if they were live (cause quite often the show was late, not BBC late but still like 10:30 kick off).
After losing the Sports Network contract, ITV got some of Hyland's promoted WBU title fights and also showed some big world title action on a delayed basis (like DLH vs Hernandez).

I heard it was the first big fight live in like a decade. May be wrong.

I'm really excited about this, who will commentate? Will it be the old theme music (never heard it)? I see they have hatton there to analyse...
WHOO! PROPS TO ITV, BIGSTYLE!
Another good thing is, the newspapers are bigging it up too, it's unmissable as a 'choice' programme, which will bring in a lot of casual viewers too.
Let's hope the ratings are even better than expected.

I just hope your average Saturday night viewer expected professional-style boxing isn't too disappointed by the slightly pitter-patter style of the amateurs.

Nope - here is a link to a real player file with an old introduction
Go to this site
http://www.tv-ark.org.uk/
Then in the links on the left click sport
Then ITV Sport
Then click (or right click if you want to save it) the real player icon next to the Big Fight live picture.
That was the music in the mid 80's aswell.

Have you got real player?
If you have and you have saved it - I would log off the internet and then it will play.
