They don't have a pro scene to speak of and are largely amateur orientated.

There was a Liverpool based Greek-Cypriot about 10-15 years ago....the Cypriot Tank ?!?!

There is a Greek who boxed in Athens (I think) doing well in the USA at the moment.

Anchondo is a super feather who has just lost to Barrios. Arnoautis is a rising light welter.

Not too many top Greek boxers around, true. Although they have a kickboxer considered by more than a few as the best in the world - Michael Zambidis. Perhaps he should consider switching codes

Andreas Panayi caused a few British upsets a couple of years ago.

And the above link to Anton Christoforidis, the first Greek world Champion back in 1941, but was he the last??

Not a fighter but rather a promoter - George Parnassus. He promoted Lionel Rose in the US in the late 60's but otherwise don't know much about him - anyone?

Yeah, rising in hype...

His manager must literally give blow jobs to some Showtime exec on a regular basis...

Kostas Petrou - the greek tank was the first ever Greek British champion, he fought future world champion Lloyd Honeyghan on a days notice and gave him a good battle, stopped Rocky Kelly for the British title, stopped future world contender Ensley Bingham both of them fights are on youtube and a few more of his fights are on youtube. He was known for being extreamly tough, As stated by the commentator against Ensley Bingam fight where he says "This man is incredible Jim the way he can come back from almost brink of defeat. Both fights are worth watching. Never in a dull fight. Could of went on to be at least European champ but bad decisons on the management side held him back.

do they even have pro boxing in greece?
any pro boxer who would be greek in any way would be one who either left greece
and was fighting out of another country or was raised somewhere else, right?
i guess they had pro swedes when pro boxing was illegal sweden, too, so there has
to be a few.

edit: if you go to boxrec main page and click "location" link and just select greece for the country,
i tried a few dates and didn't come up with an pro fights in greece after 1982
